I was hoping some of you guys out there can help me out as to what is the anime with the most action. I have seen Cowboy Bebop but I want an anime that has insane amounts of action in it. I don't really care if it has a story that I can get into. I would like some recommendations for both an action anime that has a lot of gunplay in it and an anime that has a lot of martial arts butt-whooping in it.
THANKS |

Well for "martial arts," I'd highly suggest Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture or Street Fighter Alpha. I feel the stories for each title are decent, the action is nice and fluid, very much sticking to the themes of their video game counterparts, and the dubbing is also well done.
For a much darker title also try Berserk or Ninja Scroll. If you like gorey action, these are the best two titles I can think of. |

Dude, it's a part of the fight sequence. This is the scene where: spoiler[ Kenshin wouldn't draw his sword against Aoshi, until he finally had to defend himself for that one moment.] You see that blade in the bottom corner? Guess who it belongs to? |

Voltage Fighter Cowgaizer should be a good choice -- it has great fight scenes, but the story is ... well, rather dismal and with really shallow cliched characters.

I dont think theres any great anime that has just pure action, all good anime hav a great storyline with a good mix of genres.
But if its action you want, then try fist of the north star |

I suggest Spriggan. I definitely would have watched this one if it had spun-off into a series.

Akira's a good action packed anime to watch... if you haven't seen it already you should get the DVD, you can find it pretty much anywhere you can get DVDs (I've even seen it at an HEB grocery store before), and it's dirt-cheap now that it's part of the Geneon Signature series line. Noir was good too, but I only got to see the first couple of episodes.
