So far, the drop-dead funniest Excel Saga episode I've seen (especially since I have played dating sim games).
Also, a question: Is the scene by the train with Tetsuko a reference to Julia in Cowboy Bebop? (I thought so when I saw the scene in which Tetsuko whispers something to Nabeshin but we [the audience] never hear it. Also Tetsuko and Nabeshin look a bit like the Bebop couple...)

Yeah. It's easy to see the (spoofing) resemblence between Nabeshin and Spike/Lupin. I think it's very clever of him to his character drawn like that, and I think he actually had a fro-type hairdo himself at one point in his life (or does he still have it?).

Sonuva.......
Tetsuko and Nabeshin in that episode were a reference to FREAKING LEIJI MATSUMOTO. You know, poofy haired aloof heroes and their flowing blonde haired ladies in distress circa 1970-something.
For future reference.
Captain Harlock - the 'effin man.
Maetel - the lovely woman who commands the Galaxy Express.
That's your Excel Saga scene inspiration right there.

Craeyst Raygal: I didn't think of that. That does make sense. (I only have a sampler DVD with one episode of that series on it, and only saw it once, so didn't really pick up on that. )
Kainzero: Actually, while the game itself is Dating Sim, the interface and music (especially the transition screen) reminded me a lot of the Ys series of games, which I think it might have been parodying also.

The ADVid-Notes would have explained it too.

That will be for my next run-through of the series.
