I just love the quote one of the producers uses to defend their choice in scriptwriter. This is from Don Murphy, who among other things, works on the Dreamwave Transformer comics.
Quote: | Guys
John Rogers is a tremendous writer.
We all read his draft of Catwoman.
It was awesome.
We all thought the film Catwoman sucked ass.
Remember one of my fellow producers on this is Lorenzo D'buonaventura who worked on Catwoman at Warners.
Films turn out good or bad and get rewritten and other people get credit all the time.
John Rogers is one of us. He gets this. |

Seriously... who picked that guy... they had great talent coming into project until they picked up that writer who ruined Catwoman for this year's comic book movie.

Utter stupiditiy? Maybe they want to fail, so they can all get new jobs. Its always good when you read the producer admiting the last film he wrote sucked horribly. Yea, Catwoman sure had a great plot, I'm sure he had no hand in it. Brillaint deduction. Why don't they just make the movie using claymation and throw in the California Raisens, if they're so hell bent on make a cheese-fest. Or better yet, lets hire Kid N' Play and make a Transformers Pajama Jammy Jam.

One word: effluent. (Not the first meaning, to be perfectly clear.)

It is under the executive-production of Steven Spielberg. So it might be good if its a good script.

Why do the Catwoman people keep getting work. Catwomen was a terrible movie and now the director got AKIRA and the writter got Transformers. What bull.

This movie has been in the works for years. In all honesty, the guy could have written a great script for Catwoman ,and because 51% of his script remained they stuck his name on it.
Tom DeSanto has a long history of doing it right, I'm not worried in the slightest about the end product.
Now the Catwoman director got Akira because they obviously see this as something they can do quick, dirty, and cheap. But then again we all knew it would suck the minute they announced

How the heck are the Catwoman makers getting jobs? First the director and now one of the writers ugh! They nearly ruined Halley Berry's carrer.

Oscars are meaningless now, pretty much like the Grammies. Gladiator best film, I don't think so.
