Not really a fan either but this is very good.
Granted it's not a real complex design, but she definately makes it work

Question: Does the girl actually use the pistol she is holding in the reference pic, or is it just there to look cool?
Anyway, pretty good cosplay. Just a school uniform though isn't too impressive.

Yeah she uses it. Not very effective though.
Gets a better weapon later though, but that'd be big spoilers

I love that it's passable outside of cosplay. I wish I had a VK school uniform... Even though I have a coat similar to that, just subtract the white.

They're also revealed in this cosplay. Spoilers...

Actually, the pistol is Zero's. (The character in my avatar.) Not sure why she's holding it. Yuki's weapon is a staff. While Yuki's not too good with weapons, Zero's quite effective with his Bloody Rose, which is the name of the gun.

The premise for this show's school always struck me as a monumentally BAD idea--like putting a daycare in the middle of a crocodile and snake-infested swamp or an elementary school that shared space with a clown college whose students were all pedophiles and level 3 sex offenders!
DID NO ONE IN THAT UNIVERSE EVER STOP AND THINK "Gee, maybe this is a bad idea." And what about the parents? Send your son or daughter to our prestigious school, but first sign this 40 page accidental (or intentional) death waiver, absolving the school of all wrongdoing in case your son or daughter becomes vampire chow. Oh, and the only thing stopping your kids from being turned into ground meat are a bunch of Twilight-wannabe tweens.
Like not using a condom in Boy's Town, Mexico (or going to Boy's Town in the first place), it's a bad idea.

Actually, Matsuri Hino wanted to set it during an already on-going war but her publisher insisted on her putting in the school setting. Yes, it's a bit awkward but she's managed to make it work.

Well, yeah, the school setting was the editor's idea. But the setting isn't strictly limited to the school.
Also, her adopted father runs the academy. If I told you about her real parents there'd be major spoilers. But it's still a really amazing series (not Twilight, don't worry~)
Amazing cosplay, though. What'd she do to her eyes? Are those contacts or is it shopped?
