Does anyone know any Anime Merchandise distributors other than AAAanime ?

I've been ordering from them for a while, but now i've come to notice quite a lot of merchandise from Japan with the likes of Bandai, Banpresto, Movic, even TVtokyo merch ! etc.

AAAanime and other american distributors carry mostly American brands like Great Eastern, Funimation etc.

I'm having trouble finding them, but i know they are out there... somewhere lol.

Basically im looking for merchandise distributors (Anime) which carry more Japanese brands rather than American brands.

thanks

Amazon Japan. If you intend to do a lot of preordering they are your best bet. Cheapest prices.

You also might want to check out the AoD forums for any future questions pertaining to imports. 99% of the folks here are strictly domestic.

Do not ever, ever order from Play-Asia.

Their prices can be inflated for up towards 40%, and that's just on their site.

And inflated prices or not, they also tend to add additional costs towards items involving their shipping costs without including it in the shipping cost. For example, a video game that normally costs $40 will always cost $45 with them. A special edition of, say Starcraft II, goes for $100 sharp, where with them, it's $120. Again, that's not including shipping cost! And with large, special editions like SCII, the shipping cost there is $50 minimum. (I actually tried snagging myself a special edition of DJ Max once from them, which was on sale for $25. The catch? Shipping cost was $55 at the lowest.)

Avoid Play-Asia like the plague. They're ripoff artists extraordinaire.

Odd, cause I use Play-Asia to purchase cheap Taiwan/HK sets of stuff that I don't think will be brought over here (or stuff that I just can't wait to own, like the Eva 2.22 Bluray).

My last order was Nodame Cantabile. The set was $30, and shipping was around 15 if I remember right. Very reasonable prices if you ask me.

JC is right. Never order from Play Asia. I'm always telling my friend how much I save over him at other shops, but he still continues to use them. Foreign stuff is already expensive as is. Don't get jipped!!!

thanks ppls

. i still cant find any distributors... Sad

im trying to find distributors for things like these:

http://www.movic.jp/main_products02.html

The thing is i love anime to bits, and i plan to start my own anime store locally, im just doing some research first before i decide to get down to physical business.
I've been selling online with a lot of stuff from USA, and people have been requesting more "Japanese origins" merchandise.. and it sure is hard to find !!!

On a side note, does anyone know anything about licensing merchandise ? I've seen some really cool things out there that are unlicensed (With no licensed competitors), and people see them as "unofficial" etc. I think it'd be a good idea to license some of them. I have no idea how, and can't find any guides.

Any business/law people here ? ;p

Obviously you are being sarcastic.

There are exceptions to everything. With Play Asia is less than more often. I'm just trying to keep the original poster from a potential rip off.

EDIT: It seems like the product you are asking me to find is some sort of Hong Kong version of an anime series. I'm sorry but that's completely irrelevant to the original topic. He is searching for distribution of Japanese products. If you are honestly looking for a better deal, it would probably be best if you posted in the Bargain Hunting thread. Sorry if I minterpreted that as sarcasm.

Not sure how I'm supposed to be happy about an out-of-print release, but thanks? Question

Original poster: Sorry, but I'm not aware of any Japanese anime merch wholesaler that ships internationally. They usually keep within Japan for... well, obvious economic reasons. Also not sure about licensing merchandise, that usually requires trips to Japan and meeting the Japanese distributors/creators and such. It'd also require a large amount of money I'd imagine.

It depends on what you want to buy, for Figurines I will go to http://www.amiami.jp because of their prices, for cultural stuff I use www.cooljapangoods.com because they allow SAL as a shipping option (and EMS Ex), so I only pay only like 3 USD for small goods to Mexico *-* even tho it takes like 20~ days to arrive =p, EMS is fast but a bit more expensive.

So yeah.... it depends on your country and what do you want to buy i guess.

I gotta get myself another Tatami mat set! lol to fill my entire room ^^
