This is the first time I've posted a new topic, because I really need some help. What would be the best opening theme and ending theme from all the animes you have watched all along???
Well, my top 5 opening theme is: 1)Mahoromatic-Kaerimichi This would be mainly because the song was sung by the voice actor herself and it's nice... 2)Neon Genesis Evangelion-Zankoku na tenshi no thesis Cool soundtrack, as well as the cool video. 3)Cowboy Bebop 4)Hand Maid May-Jump, meippai dakishimete 5)Flame of Recca-Nanka shiawase My top 5 ending themes are: 1)Mahoromatic-Triomatic! Ran, ran 2)Getbackers-Mr. Deja Vu 3)Inuyasha-My will 4)Samurai Deeper Kyo-( ![]() 5)One Piece-Memories I hope you can submit all the top 5 themes you like, and yeah... I'm sorry that I stopped halfway explaining why they became the top themes in my world...I became lazy... ![]() Anyways, thanks |

I'm quite fond of all the One Piece themes, opening and ending, and there's quite a lot, so I won't get into that...Naruto themes are pretty good too. I think that I just like the rhythm and the fact that I don't understand it helps too, although that's no reason to like a song.

You're obviously new here, so please read this.
![]() Anyway: Openings 1) Great Teacher Onizuka, "Driver's High" -- I love this song because I love the series. The song is perfect for Onizuka's character, and I feel the song itself just has a very upbeat rock feeling to it. 2) Cowboy Bebop, "Tank!" -- I never really listened to jazz before I saw Bebop, but now I have a new respect for it, partially because of this piece of music. It's catchy, fits the series, and isn't too long as a whole. 3) Trigun, "H.T." -- Basically, I like it just for the guitar riffs played superbly by Tsuneo Imahori. It also does a good job getting me hyped up to watch the series itself. ![]() 4) Boogiepop Phantom, "Yuudachi" -- It's kind of contradictory to the mood of the series itself, but I find it to be very easy listening. Perhaps, it's something that could be played as love song... ![]() 5) Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, "Invoke" -- A nice techno beat that gets me in the mood for action. It also goes very well with the opening animation too. I.. guess that's it ![]() Endings 1) Gungrave, "Akaneiro ga Moeru Toki" -- It's difficult to explain, but I really like the beat that is somewhat reminiscent of old '70s rock and roll. It's a good song to listen to when you're driving out on the highway with a lot of space around you (so you can speed ![]() 2) Samurai Champloo, "Shiki no Uta" -- I like the scat singing, and it has a very nice R&B style to it. I can remember at least half of the songs lyrics after singing it to myself so much. ![]() 3) Wolf's Rain, "Gravity" -- Maaya Sakamoto has a really beautiful singing voice. This was the first song I'd actually heard her fully sing in English, and it also has a very nice string melody throughout. I also like it as it is very mellow. 4) Noir, "Kirei na Kanjou" -- Another singer I really enjoy, though haven't really had the pleasure of hearing much, is Akino Arai. She has this really soft quality to her voice, and the slow beat to this song made it even better to listen to, very peaceful. ![]() 5) Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, "Touku Made" -- I'm really starting to get into Do As Infinity, and this song was a nice surprise to hear on the Japanese version of the movie. I hope they (Urban Vision) releases a Special Edition box set of this movie someday... Well, there you have it. I have a lot more that I like, but it's so hard to choose, so this will do for now! ![]() Last edited by Tony K. on Tue Oct 19, 2004 11:51 pm; edited 1 time in total |

the only one that truly stands out in my mind is cowboy bebop opening and beginning. If it wasnt for tank and the real folk blues i would never look at jazz the way i look at it now. I was so entused that i went and picked up the 4 cd set that has all the music from the show and a live cd of a concert they did in tokyo

Ohh dear me. So many potential answers. I can give five for each, though.
Openings #1 - Happy Birthday to Me: All Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku Honestly, there are very few themes that are as catchy and fan friendly as this. To this day, I still catch people doing the double clap in the middle of the theme. It's light, fun, and happy, and one of the reasons this OAV remains a fan favorite. #2 - Konya wa Hurricane: Bubblegum Crisis Bubblegum Crisis was about two things - powerful women and powerful music, and there was no song in anime more 80's rock than Konya wa Hurricane. Maye it was just Priss's blonde wig, but this song was for many of us one of the defining musical moments in anime in the 80's. #3 - A Miracle That Starts With a Kiss: Steel Angel Kurumi Sometimes I swear this one is so sweet you gain a pound just by listening to it. The performance by the voice actresses is really fairly impressive, and no matter how many times you hear it you still don't quite want to hit the skip button on the remote. Just too nice of a song to ignore. #4 - Eternal Flower: Ai Yori Aoshi Unlike the typically bouncy fun song that opens the typical romantic comedy, Eternal Flower is almost saddened. However, it's a beautiful song that puts a very fine point on the idea that Ai Yori Aoshi is more romance than comedy. #5 - Dreams: After War Gundam X One of the high points of Gundam X was this fierce and fast opening that reminded us that X had been stripped of the fairy tale romance that Wing had infused into the Gundam canon. While the series may have bobbled, the song remains stout. Endings #1 - Real Folk Blues: Cowboy Bebop Like the series or not, Real Folk Blues is more than just a good theme song - it's an excellent song in its own stead. In its mellow and bittersweet vibe it does a better job of explaining the series than anything else. #2 - Talent for Love: Tenchi Muyo OAV 1 Probably one of the most affectionate songs ever attached to an anime. Talent for Love is a song you could actually sit and listen to and feel closer to someone you're with. Once again, Sherri Lynn admirably tackled English vocal chores while Chisa Yokoyama took care of the Japanese. Both are equally pretty, and make Talent for Love one of many high points in the series. #3 - White Reflection: Gundam Wing Endless Waltz theatrical version Sad because it was both a very tender piece and because it was the penultimate end of Gundam Wing, White Reflection showcased delicate piano work alongside Two Mix's usual techno skills and made it a very memorable song amongst many memorable Wing themes. #4 - Cyborg Mermaid: Battle Angel Alita Soft, sweet, and melodic, Cyborg Mermaid was a very good song that was simply lost as a decent OAV based on an excellent manga faded in obscurity. #5 - Rage Your Dream: Initial D First Stage Combining live action, CGI, and cel animation for one wild (and somewhat psychedelic) closing animation, Rage Your Dream was a stellar way to end a quality series. The music, an intriguing combination of rap and typical Jpop, was topnotch and the lyrics fit the spirit of the series to a tee. Definitely an awesome song. |
