You got Studio SiestA's name wrong.
No shmup fan is put off by the EGL in Deathsmiles (so the style only adds more potential buyers). Some are put off X2 because of the 3D though. |

Great, now this Deathsmiles 2 business has me confused. I was about to import Mushihimesama Futari Ver 1.5 and Espgaluda II from Play-Asia but now I don't know if I should wait for an official release.
Cave titles aside I will be getting TROUBLE WITCHES NEO. This looks like a quality shump. And as far as Nintendo's next offerings, like many have said in other threads Nintendo has just about lost me as a customer, I haven't really cared about them since the 64 so my intrest in their new console is very limited. If the rumors are true and they are going after core fans then I could come back to them but I'm very skeptical about that. Hooray for Megaman Legends 3! Really looking forward to this. The recent trailers and gameplay footage show off some cool ideas and lots of refreshing tweaks and upgrades to the original gameplay. It looks like Capcom's not only brought their vast 3d experience to the table, but are really taking the fans to heart on this project!
Anybody interested in following MML3 development progress, or a chance to contribute to its development, should go to Capcom's official CapcomUnity DevRoom if you haven't already. MML3 gushing aside, I've never been a huge Sonic fan, but seeing the good ol' chubby Sonic sure is nostalgic and refreshing. For the first time in forever I'm actually wondering if a Sonic game will be good! Wii2 unfortunately just isn't generating much excitement from me. Lotsa fanboys are already drooling with anticipation, though. I said this elsewhere, but the Gamecube and Wii only really had a handful of good games (compared to N64, SNES, or Playstation which had dozens of unforgettable classics). If history is any indicator, Wii2 will likely be much ado about nothing. |

Second Biggest? I assume this must be a joke. It did cheer me up some. I was all upset about having to cancel my credit card, then I read this, and now Im not so upset. Thanks for that.

MML3: Hey, what's wrong with Axel the Red? Humanoid rose robots are still an untamed concept. He was a cool boss in X5. That aside, it'll be nice to see how this game pans out, since Capcom relied on fan input more than anything to make it work.
PSN: I'm sure I'm not the only one peeved about this breach. Hackers are total useless losers. End of story. Here's hoping some kind of solution presents itself to this situation soon, because I can imagine some serious riots breaking out if the integrity of security can't be promised beyond this debacle. Sonic Generations: Damn Todd, that's the first furry joke you've told ever. This is a historical day in X Button! But yes, you're right, I don't know why those sickos want to see furry porn of woodland animals with virtually the most impossible anatomy ever. Pathetic wankers. Anyway, I think this new upcoming Sonic game might actually satisfy, though knowing Sonic's fandom, I doubt that. They'll probably whine about why Tails and Knuckles aren't playable. In Brief: I wonder if the SNES version of FF6 will still have the dreaded Sketch bug. If so, it can still be exploited to get free Flame Shields and junk in the World of Ruin. Of course there's also the danger of it deleting your file when saving. I will say it again, Threads of Fate deserves more love. It was an amazing game back in 2000 and it still holds true today for those of us who cling tightly to our saved files of Rue and Mint with still increasing parameters. When, oh when will you guys at Square Enix realize it's deserved a sequel for more than a decade now? The full ending totally leaves the idea of a great sequel in mind. Inafune is a summonable...character...in...pffft hahaha! I hope someone puts a gameplay video up of that when the game comes out! Bullet Soul: Wow Kenji Ito did the music for a shooter? That's a new flavor of ice cream. I'm so used to his SaGa music; a shooter is weird grounds for his style. Maybe all the tracks will be like his intense battle themes. Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional: Todd, don't you ever get sick of mentioning Koichi Sugiyama's little habit? As for the game, other than the annoyingly long title (really, Professional, where does that figure in?), I imagine no one would want to go for this one. It's just Dragon Quest meets Pokemon, which says little. I'm certain the first game wasn't met with much enthusiasm here since the "kids and their monsters" genre is really tired out. I'm sure raising a super powerful Slime or Lizard Knight in this game would be cool, but really what else is there? Last edited by belvadeer on Sat Nov 26, 2011 8:44 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I'll definitely DL the MML3 demo when it gets released. In regard to the next Nintendo console Nintendo has become the talk of E3 a month and a half in advance. Considering the fact that they just mutilated the competition this gen I'm curious to see what they have in store. The PSN outage is also pretty bad. The worst is that they waited WAY too long to inform people that they MIGHT have had their personal info compromised
Also, tri-Ace announced new projects, one for the PSP and another for the 3DS: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/04/27/frontier_gate_detailed/ http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/04/27/beyond_the_labyrinth_detailed/ |

The Wii captured a void obviously left by Sony and Microsoft - by going after casual gamers. Heck, you wouldn't believe how well the likes of Wii Fits and such sold. Sony and Microsoft over-concentrated on hardcore gamers that casual gamers couldn't get in the hobby, kinda like if anime over-concentrated on pure otaku moe crap.
But can Nintendo pull off the same trick twice? The novelty of bringing back casual gaming has worn off. Sony and Microsoft have learned their lessons. There aren't too many sequels of the likes of Wii Fit et. al. which is not a good sign that casual gamers will keep re-buying sequels of the same games. Casual games rarely ever make "classic" status just because of it's casual nature that makes it easy to play for everyone (an example of that rare classic is Tetris). And this time, Nintendo will be releasing their next gen console before everyone else, so the other consoles would not be caught by surprise this time. So we'll see if Nintendo can shift the paradigm again. |

It wouldn't surprise me to see Nintendo attach Betamax to the next console. They are, after all, a company about gimmicks, followed by overused mascots in games that haven't changed since their innovative 3D designs of the N64.
I'm done with Nintendo. The Wii has failed to live up to its promises and I certainly will not believe anything coming out of this company's mouth any further. Sure, Wii sales rocked, but software? Not so much and developers certainly took notice and said "bye" as they targeted the DS. As for the rumored LCD/virtual controller inclusion, I'd be very ashamed of Nintendo if there's a grain of truth to this. They have this system today and all it requires is a Wii and a DS. Yet, it's not even used (despite promises). Games remain incompatible and it was a blatant waste of money. I suppose Nintendo will eventually get this right one day. After all, the GCN/GB connectivity also failed on a monumental scale. Third time's a charm, right? I'm pretty devastated I missed out on the Deathsmiles limited edition set. I didn't even know it was available. Damn it. Goth-lolis are the best, and that faceplate would have been awesome in my family room. Oh well. Perhaps another will grace our retailers one day. @Sony PSN news: *yawn* poetic justice for the entire rootkit fiasco. I don't know what the hell happened with this company, but it'll be a cold day in hell before a product of this company enters my home again. That's a shame, too, because they did make great electronics and the PS2 will forever be history's greatest home console. I regret selling it. Looking forward to Todd's opinion about the gaming industry after E3 settles down. |

I have no interest in the new Wii system. I do like the Wii but the ratio of good games to the garbage is NOT good.
I am NOT happy that the hackers went after Sony. I'm not a Sony fanboy but I do like Sony and they make great products. I am also upset now that I had to cancel my card and get a new one. Why can't the hackers use their talents for something useful like protecting our networks against the PLA. |

I kinda saw the Megman Legends 3 ultimatum as more a cynical trick to cancel the game and blame it on the fans because too few of them (they will say) bought $250 machines to pay for a demo.
That's a bad analogy. The counterpart to otaku moe crap is considered to be less pandering, more intelligent shows, but the counterpart to "hardcore games" are shallow mini-game collections. All the moves to produce more sophisticated, intelligent games are "hardcore". |

Aksys had a half-off sale during the holidays. They must've ran out.
It doesn't matter the reasons. What matters is the situation: casual hobbyists can't get in. |

There is a good chance you can still find the limited edition at a nearby Gamestop. It didn't exactly fly off the shelves... |

So this time around the game will have some real summoning, cool. I was a little disappointed that the first game just flashed some art work and spinning lights.
I've read that one of the features is collecting and sharing your collection with friends so I'm sure there are many more to come. This is basically shaping up to be Nendoroid Pokemon. That doesn't necessarily mean all characters will be playable, but most of the figure line will likely make cameos. Shame a game like this is impossible to release outside of Japan. I'm sure the game itself will come with a Nendoroid which is always a good way to get sales outside of Japan even for people not interested in the game itself. The Fumito Ueda games being delayed was the most disappointing bit of game news I read this past week. I've been wanting to play ICO and SoC for a long time now, but never made the move. The only thing that's really been stopping me was the announced remakes, I'm getting a little eager waiting for their release. Emerje |
