If the article hadn't said who she was cosplaying, I wouldn't have known. I can kinda see how it matches the reference shot, though a picture with the hands at her sides as so to compare the sleeves' quality would have been nice.
I see lots of pink in the photo, where there is instead red and purple in the reference shot. (hair, dress) |

This is a very bad picture. I can't really see much because its waaaaay too bright and the brightness flushes out alot of the colors in her costume. From what I can see, she looks nothing like Euphemia (and I don't just mean her physical looks but the costume and wig as well). To me she looks like some random character from an RPG game.

The gown she made is gorgeous! I like how the wig is styled too, but the shade of pink is way lighter compared to the reference pic of Euphemia.
Even though the shade is inaccurate, it blends in nicely with the rest of the cosplay. Since I never really watched Code Geass, I wouldn't have known that inaccurate detail if the reference picture hadn't been there. I just associated Euphemia with the pretty, flouncy gown she wore and her pink hair. Despite the fact that she's not a googly-eyed teenage girl, it's clear that this cosplayer took the time to apply make up well. It gives her a more doll-like look that's evocative of a Britannian princess (in my opinion). |

Where's her machine gun? I don't think you can really cosplay Euphemia without her machine gun.

That reminds me, in the show her hair clearly was pink. It's been a long while since I saw Code Geass, but looking back at the end of AMV Hell mini 4, it's definitely pink. Maybe the reference pic should be different. |

ROFL. Yeah, didn't think about that one. I usually like pink in girls, but this tone doesn't fit Euphemia. Would be a good costume otherwise, but I guess it's closer to that Gundam character. |

She's definitely pretty, but she doesn't give off any sort of Euphemia vibe.

The outfit and makeup are fantastic, but I think she would make a better C.C. myself.

Thanks for reminding me why I dropped the series mid-way. RIP, crazy possessed Yuffie. Wasn't your fault the writers used an unfortunate plot device at your expense. But yeah, configspace's pic is better. |

Conversely, I thought that event worked well on both a tragic and comedic level, if not necessarily with restraint or subtlety. Also, I don't have any particular interest in the field of cosplay but can still appreciate the fact someone actually found the character of Euphemia interesting or at least appealing enough to bother dressing up as her.

I am pretty sure that scene wasn't supposed to be comedic.
