The press release isn't wrong, this amounts to the "crown jewel" of Kodansha USA's lineup as it stands. Thank goodness the licensing hell is over. Jason Thompson's recent column on Sailor Moon feels very timely now, does it not? It's great to see a landmark title such as this get the treatment it deserves.

BAD NEWS FOR EBAY!!!
For a long time the Tokyopop version of Sailor Moon (which is horrible) sold for a lot of money on Ebay.
For example Vol. 1 of SM usually sold from $25 - $40.
and Stars #3 or Vol. 18 (the final volume) sold from $30 - $60!!!
The complete collection (ALL 18 Vols.) sold from $200 - $400!!!
The reason it sold so well was because it was OUT OF PRINT, even though the TP version is left to right and is pretty bad in every aspect.
SO this is GOOD NEWS for fans who finally want to own the complete collection without wasting a fortune on Ebay.

It doesn't say whether it'll be getting a new translation. Just says there'll be "detailed translation notes."
Regardless, this is good news. And if it does especially well and Toei pays attention, it'll be even better news.

(is at a loss of words, manages to calm down)
I want to get those! I already have the old version, but the new version will be better! I can't wait for it!
Here's to hopping that here does the anime,(And if it's Funimation let's hope that Laura Bailey and Cynthia Cranz "reprise" their roles in episode 104 )

Totally excited!! Here's hoping for unflipped, new translation with Japanese names, please. My old series has pages falling out. Man, did they use some crappy binding back then.

Keyboard smashing Joy!
I also hope this bring down the value of the old versions, since I am just missing the last volume I'd like to get it, and I will still be picking up these versions. I have one volume of the the Sailor V Japanese manga but it will be fun to read it in English!
So very happy for this!
I will also second the vote for Kodansha to continue the Twelve Kingdom novels because I am addicted to those.

Great, I can finally re-read and buy Sailor Moon! Also, I am curious about the manga prequel. I guess now I have an excuse. I really hope this sells well for Kodansha!

This is awesome. I have never had the oppertunity to read Sailor Moon so I am definatly looking forward to this. Gonna start saving my money now.
The only thing I am slightly disappointed with is that they are downsizing it to 12 volumes instead of 18. I like for my collection to be big and for the manga to be as close to the original release as possible (which is why I hate omnibus' to death). But this is Sailor Moon we are talking about, an old manga that is now making it's highly awaited return! I guess I can let it slide. (although this means the completist in me will still have to get the Tokyopop version)
Yay I am excited!!!

YES! I'm so excited! By the time I got interested in manga, these were already hard to find. It'll be great to have these on my shelf finally.
Here's hoping the anime isn't far behind.

This is by far the BEST Manga related news I have heard in years! (last time I was this happy is when Viz brought Detective conan manga to the states)
But this....this almost made me faint from joy. Koda USA.....your my new favorite manga company! lol.
Now all we need is for someone to announce the anime & the Revival is complete. (preferably Funi For a Dub, Discotek for sub-only)
