I finished Mushi-shi last week. It is a very good series, yet bad to watch when you are feeling sleepy.
Also close to finishing Kara no Kyoukai and am very glad I took Blood-'s recommendation on the order to watch the movies in. Since the company has no plans to release a cheaper DVD/Blu-ray option to the USA/Canada, I currently have some regrets about not caving in and getting the Blu-ray boxset. Ah well... I started watching Shikabane Hime/Corpse Princess after Mushi-shi and only have an episode of it left. I love anything by Gainax and so I had to watch this series. Plus I'm a fan of horror anime. |

Blood- liked Kara no Kyoukai? Even though Shiki's boobies aren't massive? What gives?
I'm still deciding what to do with my copy of Kara no Kyoukai. I'll be very frank and tell you that I no longer see the point in having a physical copy on me if there's already one with the same quality stored on my hard drive. Anyway, finished... Fafner - Ehh, what to say. I liked this design in Gundam Seed Destiny, which is when it was fresh to me (yes, Scryed was different enough), and I didn't mind up to Heroic Age (which I truly enjoyed until I realized shit peace was the point of the bloody thing). I still like it, but not nearly as much. I guess moe made that sense numb. The trick behind Fafner: get over the first half, and it's quite fun afterwards. The first half is heavy on teen angst, and comes with an emo character (emo multiplied by 2 because of the design). And by that I mean you'll see it every, damn, episode. Once it's gone, it's pretty much an NGE spin-off or whatever. Last edited by egoist on Fri Feb 25, 2011 7:49 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Geez. Well, you could always have one of those "give-away" thingies that would like go down as the most frantic one in ANN history...
I'm finishing up Azumanga Daioh and Last Exile. Very much enjoying both. I've seen the first 17 eppies of Last Exile on my friend's HDTV and PS3, making it a much better visual experience than if it had been on my own set-up. Alas, my house-sitting days ended before I could see the rest, so my own 27" CRT and DVD player will have to do. |

The trick behind HDTV is that... it's awesome at first. After a while it becomes an everyday thing. Besides, it's rare to find true HD anime anyway. Why not get some cheap HDTV, btw? If you followed me posts on the other forum you should know that they're rather cheap unless you're going for some top brand top technology which won't "top" the following day. Try one 1080p Samsung/LG LCD/Plasma 50", it should be around 750USD... for example.

Yo, Ego, we talked about you getting 2 copies and selling one to me a while back once I got the cash, though I decided to pass up on that offer because I knew I wouldn't have the $ for forever. Not that I have the cash now, but now that you don't want the copy you do have, how much would I have to cough up to get my hands on it?

I'm going for a 58" Panasonic plasma - should be able to get one for $1500 Cdn.

Same price I paid for it I guess. At first I lost interest in DVDs, but now even BDs, but then again, my interest was never that much. Man, figures are deadly things.

Wouldn't recommend it if you're on a tight budget. It's just not worth it, imo. This thing will definitely get an American release eventually. Heck, Do you know how many years it took the United Kingdom to see Fate/stay? Over 4 years.

Meh, you're probably right. But even so, I'm not gonna count myself out altogether. I can say "I'll buy it!" till the cows come home while I'm broke, but when I actually have the cash, I'll realize whether or not I really want it that badly.

I finished the end of The Irresponsible Captain Tylor not too long ago after having it for quite a few months. I will admit I had some trouble getting into it due to the premise: complete moron/tactical genius Justy Ueki Tylor becomes spoiler[captain of the Soyokaze] and needs to survive with his crazy crew through some truly outlandish scenarios. The craziest part is it's hard to figure out even til the end if Tylor is just plain stupid or a tactical bloody genius, so much so that even his own crewmates can't figure it out. However, I won't spoil too much I will just say the ending pulls off one of the greatest switcheroos of all time! And I don't feel like I'm exaggerating. It may also be interesting to note that Justy Ueki, can also be taken to mean "Just Lucky" or "Just Lucky" Tylor, take from that what you will and draw your own conclusions.

After being blown away by Cross Game looked up what other anime had been made based on manga from the same author and found this series. |

Finishing my second watch of Gurren Lagann currently. Then I may rewatch Baccano! and then... Well who knows. Probably go on a Miyazaki film binge for a few weeks.
