I'm so happy that the sequel to Cute Devil was picked up! Kawaii Hito. Cute also has a sequel or two, and I've heard terrific things about it. Way to go, BLU!

I just want to see the next manga installment for a certain vampire girl get a solicitation from Tokyopop... Neither of these fit the criteria for what I'm looking for. I might as well give up hope for it.

Itoshi no Nina isn't BL as far as I know—Ryou Ikuemi usually does josei (and shoujo in the past). I really really admire what I've seen of her work in the past, so I'm excited to see a title picked up here and definitely planning to pick it up (assuming the listing is true)!!
Maybe just be patient for Alice/Clovers news? Hearts is not quite ended yet but it seems like it's done really well for Tokyopop so I wouldn't be surprised if they go for the next series too!

Chibi Vampire/Karin? There is well over 100 vampire characters, so it's not necessarily easy to pick out the correct one though.
Much I've got to say, Amazon has almost anything you ever needed. Even cereal and other groceries as well.

Yeah my post was pretty vague, I was talking about the Moon Phase manga. I started collecting it without realizing that it was put on a hiatus a couple of years ago and the last volume released ended on a cliffhanger. It sucks because it only had 4 volumes left to go when they postponed it...

The money for releasing the last 4 volumes were siphoned off for DJ Milky's "Narcissistic Penis Envy Show."

money well spent then as I've never heard of DJ milky
Started buying more manga because its cheaper than anime and the anime series were getting dropped and becoming hard to obtain only to find the manga industry isnt much better off.
Now im left wondering if i'll ever be able to finish off series like Beck and reborn!

DJ Milky = nom de plume for Stu Levy, head of TOKYOPOP.

ah that will be why I've not heard of him. I dont follow the inner workings of the manga companies as they are kind of unaproachable and so i feel its not really worth getting to know the movers and shakers.
I used to hold tokyopop in quite high regard but they've let too many series slip.

I'd like to pick up Nina, My Love, but I fear for the overall quality of the release and the plot. I honestly don't want to read some Stockholm-esque series where the kidnapper and victim end up falling in a magical, glorified love or something.

Tokyopop can bite me unless they either pick up some of their unnanounced dropped licenses or hire a [expletive] editor. I just can't bring myself to pay for anything new of theirs. It's just appalling.

They actually have picked up some of their "dropped" titles—Gatcha Gacha was recently finished, Suppli's had some more releases, Platinum Garden's making a comeback in a couple months, Genju no Seiza's back on the schedule... others that slip my mind because they're not series I follow. I agree it's frustrating that there are still some series with no signs of being continued (yet) but Tokyopop's been very reliable with all of their current ongoing titles, so I'm happy to support the ones that interest me, and keep throwing out references to the ones I'm wishing they'd bring back (like Zig*Zag!!).
I don't really notice issues with their editing (at least nothing beyond what I see from other publishers), so I'm not sure what's bothering you there.

Good to know. Since you asked, their release of Hotel Africa was incredibly well-reviewed here, but it was extremely expensive - a tenner a volume, which is like what, fourteen to sixteen dollars I suppose? It was absolutely riddled with errors. It was more awkward than the most awkward scanlations I've read, and whole speech bubbles were left untranslated by mistake. I still adored the original content wherever it was able to shine through, but it was just crap.

Oh, that does sound bad! (I just picked up the two volumes of Hotel Africa, though I haven't read them yet. And that's a good reminder—I really want Tokyopop to bring back the Hee-Jung Park titles they have on hold!!) I don't recall any drastic mistakes like that from their current releases, but yeah, whenever I spot something like that, I really wish it had been caught before going to print. Still, I think Tokyopop's doing much better in a lot of ways than they were 2 or 3 years ago, so I'm not too worried over the quality of their upcoming releases.
