i've done a little research on this, because i'm about to start collecting poseable figs, and maybe PVC non-poseable statues... well,anyway,..... so i found out that PVC figures, since they are made of plastic, a particular type of plastic, that particular plastic "sweats" when the temperature is high or humid+mid-high.... this "sweating" action is the molecules of the plastic beneath the outer later of the PVC figure coming up through the surface("skin") of the figure causing the surface to become sticky with a film of plastic molecules. now this can be dangerous to your figure if you make the mistake of placing your PVC figure next to another figure or any other object for that matter,...because if the figure is touching another figure or object, AND your fig is "sweating" the color of one figure will transfer to the other in the parts that are touching. so, your figure will get paint marked, get ruined, and you'll most likely have to get some paint supplies from the manufacturer to fix it, if the damage isn't bad. also, if your figure is "sweating", the dust that unavoidably collects will then stick to the figure, and it becomes either extremely hard or impossible to clean off. hence, keeping the figure in cool, cold, low humidity temperature enviornment is a must to maintain your figure's prestineness or general upkeep. putting your fig in the freezer for once or twice a month is a must. if i can find the link to where i learned this info from, i'll post it here on this post.... lastly, forgive my terrible spelling. Two new figures arrived today. It seems Royal Mail is doing auto-redelivery these days, which was welcome this time, but may not be next.
The first is C.C. This figure seems to be quite rare. Definitely my favorite C.C.    
As you can see, her cape comes off, but not as easily. I spent 10 times longer setting C.C. up, than I did with the one below. You'll get a total of 9 pieces. 3 support, 1 main body, 1 cape, 1 head, 3 arm. Not 3 arms. Here is the trick to get her dress off, which took me a while to figure out: First you'll have to remove her head, and second her left arm. Her right arm are two pieces, and you'll first have to remove the lower part, and then the upper, which connects directly to her body. And then you'll finally be able to remove her dress. It won't simply come off, though. If you're interested, there's one on Ebay from a Japanese seller. I can't guarantee the authenticity, but I would trust that one. The box is rather small, so if you pick SAL it will cost ya $21. Needless to say, I consider the following figure the best from the character, since it's the adult version. Her younger version looks too childish before my eyes.

How many of you have used the freezer method mentioned before? My figures are pretty much dust free and I keep them in cool/non humid settings. It still makes me wonder if I should stick them in a freezer every so often as regular upkeep.

 Truth be told though, once I started collecting figures I began leaving my air conditioning on (albeit on low) during the summer, whereas I used to turn it off when I'd be gone for a few days (only to come home to a sweltering apartment). As cold as it is here right now, in the summer it can get pretty hot and I'd rather not find my collection in a puddle.
Anyway, a much-anticipated preorder and a "used" but much coveted specimen both arrived this week: Saitou Hajime 1/10 by Movic is the first of 3 (so far?) Hakuouki figures planned for the first half of this year. He is just gorgeous. I had to be sooooo careful peeling those little plastic sheets from him (you know, the ones they put on a new figures to keep the PVC bits from sticking together as they sit in the box, still fresh). He's got a lot of intricately swirling strands of hair & ribbons and I was deathly afraid I'd break one off (thinking of egoist’s BRS ponytail issue the entire time). The base is nice and sturdy and (unlike Asato down there) I’m not at all worried about him tumbling off his feet. Perhaps they had to make it (and the pegs) substantial because I imagine if Saitou were to fall, like I said, all those thin little strands… *snap* I don’t even want to think about it.    
When I saw a fellow MyFigureCollection forumer offering to sell her “used” Lamento Asato (1/10 Kotobukiya) figure for only $125 (+ $10 postage) I jumped on it. I’ve been watching what he & Rai (the 4th and last Lamento 1/10 I need to get) go for on eBay and the only time you’ll possibly find him cheaper is missing the box or drama CD, etc. So I’m quite content that I got a deal (and my seller has more $ to funnel into her BJDs).   
Also, much to my delight, I discovered that he is actually a cast-off figure too! So I promptly stripped him for another photoshoot. 
  
My minor problems with Asato are: A.) The pegs in his base don’t go deep enough into his feet to really securely snap him into place so while he’s okay if just left standing, once I start fiddling with him he tends to come off the base; and B.) It’s really hard to get a good look at his pretty, snarling, fanged face under all that hair and especially in that dynamic pose. I think the cast-off factor more than compensates for these, though. |

Some random thoughts about recent figures I've received:
1) Although the perv in me appreciates the concept of removable clothing - specifically bikinis and bras, etc - in practice this is not a great thing, I have discovered. That's because said "clothing" tends to be made out of soft plastic and trying to fasten it is a colossal pain in the buttocks. Case in point: my Kanu Unchou Miss Photogenic figure. I made the mistake of disrobing her (not that she had much on in the first place) because her bikini top and bottom didn't appear to be fitting snugly. No bloody wonder: you basically have to snap the bottom together in two places - at the ends of two very thin straps. I finally managed to get the bottoms on properly, but I daren't breathe around her for fear of having them pop loose again. Meanwhile, she remains topless in true Amazon style. 2) My Goei (a milf sitting on a gold yoga ball in a teeny red bikini) has removable swimsuit parts, too, but they look so properly attached to her and I know I could never recreate that snugness myself, so chastely clothed she will remain. I was amused to see that not only were there indentations in the gold yoga ball for her buttocks, but there was also one to accommodate her camel toe. Gotta love that attention to craftsmanship. |

I've got quite a few figure collections built up, mostly from convention visits. Here's two of them:
Bought these at Anime Central 2009 - From left to right, a Nitro+ trading figure (not sure which one - anyone know?), Ein from Phantom of Inferno, regular Kagami, variant maid Konata, and the variant Princesse Kushinata (I also picked up the regular Kushinata and AnnaPuma from Dominion.) 
Asuka Langley Sorhyu and Rei Ayanami from the Evangelion Portraits figure collection alongside their respective Evangelions, which are Kaiyodo Entry Plug repaint versions in near-mint condition. |

) I just assumed they were all like my Asato (or even Natsume with his cast-off kimono)-- solidly-molded PVC clothes that "snap" on & off. Asato's top just splits along the seams at his ribs/sides and then I gently pull it apart to get it over his shoulders. The instructions in his box were pretty funny while simultaneously extremely clear. I wonder how many times I can do that before the PVC at the shoulders gets too stressed & starts to crack? Maybe the difference is because his relatively full top is more substantial compared to a bikini top.
On the general topic of cast-offs/removable clothing, I just frankly wish there were more catering to the female market. Because while it'll probably never equal that of the bishojo figure market, there's definitely potential for some money to be made from us fangirls. |

They probably don't do it too much because with that thing hanging straight out they would have returns to no end.
Out of curiosity, did they ever create a figure with a visible penis? Aw, now that felt awkward... minus 50 pride. I just went to collect a few figures. Gonna check if they're bootlegs after feasting on this McDonald's fat food. |

Nah, it's just that the part would be so fragile and could easily break. But it's not like they're much different irl.
Now that's weird. I thought for sure they did one every now and then. Surely it should sell pretty well, just like the female counterpart does. Anyway, here are my two newest additions directly from Taiwan: Senhime, Samurai Girls   Obligatory pantsu shot.
The anime sucks, but at least the design, and voice acting are pretty good. And here is the lady from Steins Gate.   And some obligatory fanservisu.
This one comes with various parts, but if you follow the manual it's a piece of cake. They're both gorgeous and worth owning. We'll surely get more of the lady from Steins Gate, but meanwhile if you are looking for an affordable version (and good looking), there's one out there for about 2.1k yen before shipping. So far so good. Out of 8 received, only one was a bootleg... from a UK seller whom already refunded me. I do admit that I failed to check the images properly, but since he did call it authentic in the description it moved smoothly. Bingo. Combine that with my less than nimble fingers and you get minutes of frustration for the whole family. I sympathize with your fangirl plight. It is clear the figure market is far more oriented towards het horndogs like moi-self (and egoist, of course). You fangirls need to form an alliance with gay guys and see if you can convince the industry that you are enough of a market to make it worth their while to broaden the offerings. |

I don't know of any figures that are anatomically correct males, but there are a number of dolls that are. Usually in the 12 inch size (that is the whole doll is 12 inches).
Several years ago some U. S. company made a "Gay Bob" doll. It was not only anatomically correct but came in a box fashioned to look like a "closet". |

Howdy.
I'm generally not a big figure collector. Just buying the anime itself is expensive enough. There's no way I can afford to regularly buy any of the bigger figures in the $80+ range. I do however have a number of little mini figures. I love these things. Of course there are a lot of pretty crappy ones out there but there's a lot of really incredible ones as well with an amazing amount of detail. My latest acquisitions are some new figures from the Berserk Art of War mini figure series: 
Black Swordsman Guts. From pre-Conviction Arc with the black and more pointy armour and from post-Conviction Arc with the heavier, silver, plate armour all the way down the legs. Like I said, despite being tiny, (Less than 4") they're incredibly detailed. Every detail is articulated right down to the little throwing daggers and the screws on the armour. 
Femto/Griffith. This is the nicest of the bunch. The colouring is just great. I don't know how well you can tell from the picture but he's not just all black. There are deep blue streaks blended down the cape and on the legs. The helmet is actually hollow with a separate piece for the head which has the full facial features.
