Hmm, FUNi doing Matsumoto. You have to admit, they're really doing a good job of bolstering their library.

Unfortunately, Galaxy Railways has about as little to do with Matsumoto as...pretty much any of the recent Leiji-verse titles. Not to say that it's *bad*...just that, well, yeah.

Also, the announcement was leaked; Galaxy Railways was listed as having been picked up by Funi in the most recent issue of Animerica.

Oh, I didn't notice that. It's a street date issue, FUNimation probably expected to announce the title at a previous con and told Animerica, and then for some reason didn't announce it. But Animerica already went to the printers...

I'm glad Funimation picked it up. Great news. I'm sure they'll a decent job on the release too.

I also wish someone would pick up Submarine Super 99, the recent over-looked Matsumoto tilte.

It probably means that Matsumoto had no direct involvement and that other people are taking his ideas as a foundation and creating something new. It seems like whenever this happens, the end-result is crap.

Are you sure? Can you give some examples? The only one I'm not sure if there were mangas for were Cosmo Warrior Zero and the new Herlock OVA, which I both really, really liked. I'm sure Matsumoto was pretty involved anyways.
