Wow japan. First the dumb personified train lines and now this. I'm sure fangirls will eat this up and I sense bad anime on the way....

This is just bad manners! Aren't you taught not to talk with your food? And who would eat food that talks back at you?! Unless you're a baby - choo-choo here comes the food train!

I feel like this series is trying to jump onto the Hetalia bandwagon. By which I mean, turn anything inanimate into a bishonen and people will buy into it.

Wow. Just... wow.
A plethora of incredibly bad jokes jumped to mind when I finished reading the article. "Don't play with your food!" among the worst.
As a visual person, I'm happy for the art, but every other fiber in me is just shuddering in disgust/pity/shake-headed-ness.

My first thought was of the angsty possibilities of yaoi doujinshi incorporating the "I don't like my food touching" angle. Anguish ensues.
On that note, I'm off to have a tangerine for luck. Happy Year of the Rabbit, all!

Anyone else remember the the ones that were based off of holidays? Anyone?
...Because I feel that this one's going to turn out just like it.

Why not? We personified whole countries. Why we can't personify everything else?
And the term "I could eat your right up" should appear in these dramas.

Yes, because every young teen girl fantasizes about having sexual relations with a bowl of curry. *rolls eyes*

Hetalia I forgive because the characters/character designs are so gosh darn cute. Plus it was a fun idea to make our countries into people.
This...however....WTF?
I got three words to say to this: Do. Not. Want!

Why is everyone acting like Hetalia is the series that started this whole "inanimate-object-or-concept-as-character" thing? Maybe it was the first series to do it with male characters (and even then I bet someone could find an earlier example) but this is not some horrible new idea that Hetalia hath recently wrought, y'know?
P.S. Not saying that this sounds like a winner, though...

Hetalia didn't invent moe anthropomorphization but it definitely put it on the map - particularly for female fans. Since then all kinds of stuff has been popping up trying to cash in on the success, and nothing has ever succeeded.
I wish they'd realize that Hetalia was popular because when you personify countries you actually have events from history as story material and national stereotypes as blueprints for characters.
WTF can you do with food?
Still if it becomes an anime, totally watching it for the lulz.
