When Robert (the owner of RACS) stated he had no clue about the offer, I became skeptical.
Even though he came in and said everything's okay, it still doesn't give me confidence a small, family-run business like RACS couldn't know of this. If it were BestBuy, I'd understand, but sometimes these deals just seem too good to be true. Again, especially when these offers aren't given on their own web page, where a great many people go to shop. I'm passing, but thanks for the head's up. The last thing I need to see is another owner coming in, scratching their head, then putting people on pins and needles awaiting an "all clear" message. |

if you read the posts later you'll find out WHY he didn't know anything about it. it's because Weshop is using it as an introductory marketing tactic for the retailers as well. offering their "mining" techniques to the company so that company can fine tune it's target audiences and sales. after the purchase of the gift cards to put them in good graces with said retailer for spending a ton (basically a way to make a good impression)... They didn't even COME to RACS until the purchase of the gift cards happened. basically he COULDN"T know |

Thanks for the heads up. I just took the liberty of asking my friends and family to buy GCs for me. So far I got 15. Thank god I have 8 siblings.

From what Robert(owner of RACS) posted in the 25 for 50 RACS thread, WeShop will go out and purchase $50 GCs for each one bought on their site. Their goal is to compile a list of data( read people) and sell it to companies for thousands of dollars. Basically they're doing market research and selling their results. Since I bought the GCs for RACS, Animenation, and Rightsuf in the last week from WeShop, they will label me as interested in anime and attempt to sell my info(name and email) to those aforementioned 3 companies to use as customer research. That should clear up the questions you have. |
