Is this supposed to be a hint that it might be licensed or something?

lol no
The Daten City folder is what is normally the Other Anime folder where we talk about no AS anime
This change is something we started last month of theming the folder for a short period of time (a day or two) for the lolz. We started off with One Piece, and this month we have PSG.

Haha. ANN (through AnimeonDVD) trolled by Adultswim boards.
Classic.
It'd be best to delete this news item post haste before getting everyone's hopes up.

Or is [as] actually trolling in this case and they really have it?

So much for our little bit of fun. Oh well, I knew once I saw this "NEWS" article it wasn't going to last long.

Because it gave people false hope maybe that it was licensed since it was on the Adult Swim boards. I'm not disappointed though, I wasn't much of a fan of it anyways. This was pretty funny though.

With respect to the reactions I have seen against it, the same could be said of Panty and Stocking itself.

You know how it is, there is quite a huge chunk of people here that are utterly convinced that y'all at [as] hate anime and are actively moving to destroy it.

Because it's cheaper to pay two talentless hacks than license a series from the greedy Japanese.

Ya damn right it is!
Not only is it cheaper, but it gets more views, and thus money, on top of that. Honestly, if I were to guess, I would say the ONLY reason [as] still shows any anime at all is because THEY LIKE IT. Why else would they keep showing things that bomb in the ratings as opposed to just replacing it with some of their own homebrew shows that would make them a lot more money.
