It is good to see that Gonzo could be making a come back. I always did like Gonzo shows even if a lot of people hate them.

Oh, didn't think Gonzo would come back. Was I the only one who thought they'd shut down?

Good news though. Their clumsy animating style would be missed.

Gonzo as you knew it did shut down. They basically have become a for-hire contractor with very few to no self-done projects.

So I take it Gonzo is the Japanese Media Blasters? They just won't die. Well, I am interested in what they'll be coming out with if (when?) they start doing TV shows again; I always kinda liked their stuff.

I guess that's okay. Last Exile and Gankutsuou were really great, but I can't say I'm a fan of anything else they've done. At least they'll have a second chance.

Yup, that's how its possible to come back in the face of the miserable returns available in the anime market ~ leverage the skillset into work for hire. They'll be able to afford one or two anime projects at a time ~ in part, of course, to maintain their brand ~ so long as they can keep getting work from games companies and to upgrade the output of Chinese and Southeast Asian animation companies.

If they could get some Hollywood work, that would complete a tripod.

Good news, as long as they aim for quality rather than quantity of releases, and by quality we're talking Last Exile level rather than, say, Dragonaught. THey were forward looking enough to literally kickstart the whole English simulcast business, were always very willing to work with overseas companies and properties and, no matter what people say, produced some top notch animation when they were on good form.

I'm always surprised to see so much negativity towards GONZO shows - I always associate the name with the cream of the crop when it comes to anime. Maybe I've just been lucky to get all the gems over the years, to no complaints from me though - great stuff! Good to see them making some profit and working on new projects.

If this means that they can go back to making quality shows like Last Exile and Samurai 7 and cool it on the Dragonaughts or Blassreiters, then I say 'awesome' Wink .

I just think people remember the really bad GONZO shows instead of remembering the good ones. While Gonzo has definitely not had a particularly great record like Bones and Sunrise has had, I would say their record was decent about 50-50.

Eww, Gonzo - the only studio without single good show ever made. How is it they still around?

Of what I've seen, I would give the following titles 7+/10; which, by ANN's rating system, is considered good... median ratings also agree with me.
Full Metal Panic!, Saikano, Kaleido Star, Last Exile, Chrono Crusade, Gantz, Samurai 7, Desert Punk, Gankutsuou, Basilisk, Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood, Welcome to the N.H.K., Witchblade, Kaze no Stigma, Pumpkin Scissors, Romeo x Juliet, Bokurano, Seto no Hanayome (partly), and The Tower of Druaga.
