RHachicho and PiercingArrow have both updated their voting posts, so we have only one person who has voted whose vote isn't counting at the moment.
But I agree, the voting is way down from this same time the last two weeks. A bit of a drop-off is normal beginning around Group C or D, but unless a lot of people are waiting until late to vote this time around, being down a third or more already concerns me. |

Been very busy this week with finals, but my vote should come very late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Was hoping for more arguments by then, and keep those votes coming.

Group C-1
Kisuke Urahara, Bleach Group C-2 Akemi, SaiKano Group C-3 Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin Group C-4 Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star Group C-6 Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon He may be a supporting character, but the Professor is one of the driving forces behind the series. He is your lovably crazy scientific supervisor... one that many students can only wish they had (at least that way university would be more interesting). His fixation on fermentation is, well... disturbing, but fun in a way, and the scene in the beginning where they find the corpse and he does his first explanation (Inuit recipe, was it?) is just unforgettable. Group C-7 Myoga, Inuyasha There are other iterations of Shinsengumi captains, and I don't consider this Saitou to be exceptional. There is, however, only one supernatural flea-man serving as a regular comic relief, so Myoga gets my vote. Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura Group C-9 Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible Group C-11 Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Group C-12 Rakushun, The Twelve Kingdoms Group C-13 Gilliam II, Outlaw Star Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise Not fair... I proposed both characters in this group *sigh* Oh well. Unfortunately for poor Hitomi, Mao is just more known and popular. Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away Group C-16 Vanilla, Kaiba _____ I was away, couldn't vote before. Sorry for the delay. |

Group C-1
Kisuke Urahara, Bleach vs. Chourou, Hare + Guu Reason: I loved Haru Guu, I really did. It was fun and just a nice screwball comedy to veg with. But in terms of a supporting character who really SUPPORTS the main character(s) and is a vital part to the show I easily gotta give it to Kisuke. In fact as the series progresses IMHO his support becomes more important and more vital. His role increases in terms of what he brings to the table to help Ichigo and the others. In several situations his information and/or training is crucial to the story progressing. Whether or not you may think Bleach, or all shonen jump, are over rated Kisuke is easily the better supporting character in this one. Group C-2 Cologne, Ranma ½ vs. Akemi, SaiKano Group C-3 Armblast, Kiddy Grade vs. Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin Reason: Armblast silently supports Eclaire and Lumiere throughout the entire series. His support to them is unwavering and more importantly his information is critical to their success. He also seems to always keep his cool which is not a requirement to being a best supporting character but it doesn't hurt heh. Group C-4 Fool, Kaleido Star vs. Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star vs. Straight Cougar, sCRYed Reason: Like Key said Akira is fun to watch with her near bi-polar personality but Cougar is equally fun to watch with his outlandish comedy and behavior. However beyond their quirky behavior COugar actually adds to the main plot and is not just there more or less for comedy relief. Especially in the later half of the show Cougar gets a bit more serious and his role and importance becomes much more important. Group C-6 Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory vs. Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon Reason: This is a hands down easy pick IMO. Throughout Kurau Doug is there trying to figure things out. He's constantly trying to get o the truth of the matter. Once he does he supports Kurau and Christmas without fail. One could argue without his help and expertise they'd never have had a chance on their own. Group C-7 Hajime Saito, Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin titles (some) vs. Myoga, Inuyasha Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura vs. Gouzaburou Seto, My Bride is a Mermaid Group C-9 Mr. Cat, Princess Tutu vs. Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible vs. Nobuko “Nobu” Ishihara, Lovely Complex Group C-11 Hiko Seijiro, Ruroni Kenshin vs. Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Group C-12 Rakushun, The Twelve Kingdoms vs. Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta, Gunbuster Group C-13 Kyosuke Irie, When They Cry - Higurashi franchise vs. Gilliam II, Outlaw Star Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise vs. Hitomi Kashiwa, Welcome to the NHK Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away vs. Miss Yoshinoya, Hidamari Sketch Group C-16 Wakaba Tsukishima, Cross Game vs. Vanilla, Kaiba |

Each character had their own unique set of flaws so that people were bound to relate to at least one of them on a personal level. I didn't like Hitomi because she as the one character I couldn't relate with in any way. However as a supporting character that is important because it means she has a very unique set of traits which the others don't possess. That makes her important in a show which is very much about human weakness. Haven't voted yet for a couple reasons. I've been watching Daria all week and not watching anime, and this bracket doesn't really excite me tremendously. But I guess I'd like my vote counted on a couple of the close ones.
And Hey, if this "must make at least one argument requirement in early rounds" is really a rule, it really should be edited into the rules on the first page. Group C-1 Kisuke Urahara, Bleach vs. Chourou, Hare + Guu Vote For: Kisuke Urahara Group C-2 Cologne, Ranma ½ vs. Akemi, SaiKano Vote For: Cologne Cologne really energizes the show when she arrives, she makes so much happen. Half of Ranma's major moves come from her "training", not to mention Ryoga's toughness, Her machinations also tend to force Ranma and other characters think about their relationships with each other. And while she is an "old hag" character, of a type I usually don't like, she comes off as less annoying or nagging than the usual type and can occasionally come off with some funny lines of her own. Group C-3 Armblast, Kiddy Grade vs. Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin Vote For: Armblast Group C-4 Fool, Kaleido Star vs. Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Vote For: Kokone Takatsu I've never seen the show but I like the write-up. I saw about half of the first KS, and found Fool to be annoying. Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star vs. Straight Cougar, sCRYed Vote For: Straight Cougar To tell the truth, I like both Lucky Star and Akira more than I like sCRYed and Straight Cougar but she doesn't interact with the cast and is barely recognized as the idol she apparently is. Haruhi Suzimiya probably has more influence on the main characters than Akira. Give Akira her own ensemble show. Group C-6 Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory vs. Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon Vote For: Professor Itsuki Keizo Group C-7 Hajime Saito, Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin titles (some) vs. Myoga, Inuyasha Vote For: Myoga Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura vs. Gouzaburou Seto, My Bride is a Mermaid Vote For: Tomoyo Daidouji Group C-9 Mr. Cat, Princess Tutu vs. Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars Vote For: Sakae Jinnouchi, Wait? Is Mr. Cat really winning this round? He's a two gag character at best, funny but not great. I like the show and hope Edel can compete against Kimura in her next match but there's no good reason for Mr. Cat to win here. It seems the biggest reason to not vote for Sakae Jinnouchi (other than maybe not seeing the movie) is that people consider her a main character or part of an ensemble cast, at first I wasn't sure where I stood on this but now I've decided that I don't agree. Sakae Jinnouchi is a character of pure inspiration- the main characters take their strength from her, they don't rely on her. Even the one major action she takes (spoiler[telephoning the nations leaders to get them to do what's needed]) is a supporting role and the most important thing about it is how it inspires others (including our main hero) to also try their best. Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible vs. Nobuko “Nobu” Ishihara, Lovely Complex Vote For: Maestro Stresemann Nobu is a strong supporting character... too strong. As in she's such a strong character the other supporting characters end up weak. Watching the show I sometimes wished she'd just shut up and let someone else step up. Group C-11 Hiko Seijiro, Ruroni Kenshin vs. Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Vote For: Hiko Seijiro Group C-12 Rakushun, The Twelve Kingdoms vs. Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta, Gunbuster Vote For: Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta Group C-13 Kyosuke Irie, When They Cry - Higurashi franchise vs. Gilliam II, Outlaw Star Vote For: Kyosuke Irie Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise vs. Hitomi Kashiwa, Welcome to the NHK Vote For: Hitomi Kashiwa Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away vs. Miss Yoshinoya, Hidamari Sketch Vote For: Miss Yoshinoya Group C-16 Wakaba Tsukishima, Cross Game vs. Vanilla, Kaiba Vote For: Wakaba Tsukishima |

Group C-1
Kisuke Urahara, Bleach vs. Chourou, Hare + Guu Uraharais one of the stronger characters in this group. Group C-2 Cologne, Ranma ½ vs. Akemi, SaiKano Both choices are weak enough to be steamrolled by Urahara next round, but I think people are being too hard on Akemi. Group C-3 Armblast, Kiddy Grade vs. Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin I am a hearing a lot of good about Joun. Group C-4 Fool, Kaleido Star vs. Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Fool stands out far too much to be passed over this early. Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star vs. Straight Cougar, sCRYed I will also admit that Akira Kogami made Lucky Channel enjoyable. She's also a very distinct and memorable character. She's not a deep character, but she has an amazing presence and impact despite her very limited screen time. Group C-6 Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory vs. Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon Don't know much about the Professor, but I have to agree with abunai that while I also loved Kurau Phantom Memory, Doug didn't do much for me as a character. He just didn't stand out very much. Group C-7 Hajime Saito, Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin titles (some) vs. Myoga, Inuyasha Hajime Saito Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura vs. Gouzaburou Seto, My Bride is a Mermaid Tomoyo Group C-9 Mr. Cat, Princess Tutu vs. Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars Seen both and, I am extremely surprised that Mr. Cat is doing so well here. Sakae Jinnouchi has a much stronger presence, and she is by far the most memorable character in Summer Wars. I also disagree that she's a main character, and I believe she's a fairly strong contender. Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible vs. Nobuko “Nobu” Ishihara, Lovely Complex Both characters are deserving, but I still believe Maestro Stresemann is more so. He plays numerous roles, and unfortunately he currently has a poorly written guide entry. Would it be possible if his guide entry was edited? He deserves far better, and if someone else doesn't jump at it, I would gladly do so. Stressessman is a very enjoyable enigma of character. Love him or despise him, he still plays a very pivotal role for both of the main characters, as a guide, mentor, antagonist, annoyance, and as a opportunity broker all at different times. He is a bit erratic and not at all serious at times, but that's a a part of his charm. Group C-11 Hiko Seijiro, Ruroni Kenshin vs. Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Hiko Group C-12 Rakashun, The Twelve Kingdoms vs. Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta, Gunbuster Rakashun Changed Vote Group C-13 Kyosuke Irie, When They Cry - Higurashi franchise vs. Gilliam II, Outlaw Star Gilliam II Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise vs. Hitomi Kashiwa, Welcome to the NHK Mao Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away vs. Miss Yoshinoya, Hidamari Sketch Kamaji Group C-16 Wakaba Tsukishima, Cross Game vs. Vanilla, Kaiba Wakaba seems far more interesting and important than Vanilla. I am also likely to see Cross Game some time because it sounds like a series that I might really enjoy. Last edited by mow123 on Mon May 10, 2010 10:54 pm; edited 4 times in total |

With about 23 hours left as I post this, we have 20 votes in, one of which is not counting at the moment. (I have PMed ~~Epic~~ about it, though, so I am expecting that to be remedied on time.) Assuming that the currently-DQed vote set will count, we have
two tied match: C-2 (Cologne/Akemi) and C-9 (Mr. Cat/Sannae Jinnouchi). Five other matches - C-3, C-5, C-6, C-7, and C-14 - are all spread by either two or four votes, so they're definitely still in play, too. And expect that this "significant argument in at least one match" rule will become permanent for Rounds 1-2, as I like the results I've seen. It will be added to the OP beginning with Group D. EDIT: This post did not account for mow123's votes, since he apparently slipped his in right before I posted this. Last edited by Key on Mon May 10, 2010 10:41 am; edited 1 time in total |

After going to six Major League Baseball games in a week (including five consecutive games in same said week), I am so tired that I do not have the mental capacity to cast my vote. I'd better vote now before going to another (hopefully great) baseball game in about 16 hours.
Group C-1 Kisuke Urahara, Bleach vs. Chourou, Hare + Guu My vote goes to: Kisuke Urahara. Group C-2 Cologne, Ranma ½ vs. Akemi, SaiKano My vote goes to: Akemi. Group C-3 Armblast, Kiddy Grade vs. Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin My vote goes to: Joun the Beekeeper. Group C-4 Fool, Kaleido Star vs. Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Kaleido Star is more enjoyable with Fool's failed attempts at lechery. This usually leaves him hanging upside-down blindfolded courtesy of Sora. My vote goes to: Fool. Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star vs. Straight Cougar, sCRYed I usually lose interest in Lucky Star pretty fast since nothing really happens within the series. The Lucky Channel segments are more enjoyable than the main content itself due to its bipolar host: Akira Kogami. My vote goes to: Akira Kogami. Group C-6 Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory vs. Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon Without Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory, would be a short series. It is with his assistance and information that Kurau and Christmas are able to keep a few steps ahead of the GPO. He is also a link of communication between "Kurau" and her father. My vote goes to: Doug. Group C-7 Hajime Saito, Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin titles (some) vs. Myoga, Inuyasha My vote goes to: Myoga. Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura vs. Gouzaburou Seto, My Bride is a Mermaid My vote goes to: Tomoyo Daidouji. Group C-9 Mr. Cat, Princess Tutu vs. Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars One of the defining moments of Summer Wars was during a crisis in the movie. As a malicious A.I. program is wrecking havoc to networked control systems worldwide, Japan is brought down to a grinding halt, literally. What does Sakae Jinnouchi do to save the day? She spoiler[picks up an analog rotary phone and calls up everyone she knows. Her network includes high-ranking politicians in the Japanese government, police commissioners, and her family members working in various public service positions. By inspiring said people over the phone to do their best with what they have, Japan is slowly brought back under control.] This single act is a quintessential representation of the theme of networking in Summer Wars. It compares how different generations of people network and use their networking connections. For her dedication to family and country, my vote goes to: Sakae Jinnouchi. Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible vs. Nobuko “Nobu” Ishihara, Lovely Complex My vote goes to: Nobuko "Nobu" Ishihara. Group C-11 Hiko Seijiro, Ruroni Kenshin vs. Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Rurouni Kenshin and its prequel would not even exist if not for Hiko Seijiro. In fact, if I remember correctly, he is the the most person in the Rurouni Kenshin storyline. This is shown in the brief screen time that he has during the Kyoto arc. spoiler[As the 13th master of the powerful Hiten Mitsurugi style of swordsmanship, Hiko Seijiro commands a great deal of respect from Kenshin. He passes on the succession technique of the sword style, Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki, to Kenshin upon his passing of a trial. To successfully use this technique, Hiko Seijiro teaches that "the will to live" is the key to the technique. In the prequel, it was Hiko Seijiro that saved Shinta (Kenshin's old name) from bandits. Witnessing Kenshin's resolve of wanting to protect those dear to him, he takes in an apprentice to the Hiten Mitsurugi style of swordsmanship. The rest is history, as the say.] My vote goes to: Hiko Seijiro. Group C-12 Rakushun, The Twelve Kingdoms vs. Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta, Gunbuster My vote goes to: Rakashun. Group C-13 Kyosuke Irie, When They Cry - Higurashi franchise vs. Gilliam II, Outlaw Star My vote goes to: Gilliam II. Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise vs. Hitomi Kashiwa, Welcome to the NHK My vote goes to: Mao. Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away vs. Miss Yoshinoya, Hidamari Sketch I have not been up to date on my Hidamari Sketch but I do remember a particular short from the manga. A student inquires about her assignment and somehow Miss Yoshinoya misinterprets the question (intentionally?). Somehow, in her mind, she thought the student was asking how her breasts got so big. The short was in fact, priceless. My vote goes to: Miss Yoshinoya. Group C-16 Wakaba Tsukishima, Cross Game vs. Vanilla, Kaiba My vote goes to: Wakaba Tsukishima. |

Last minute appeal for Professor Itsuki Keizo:
Yes, Doug helps out Kurau and Christmas, plus he's a nice guy, but he's kind of boring. Professor Keizo is anything but. He is an instigator, sending his assistants on journeys to acquire rare research material, recruiting two seemingly delinquent students to assist in the creation of an alcohol distillery, and introducing Kei to an acquaintance that allows him to take his life in an entirely different direction. In one instance he even sells a collection of various aphrodisiacs to his male assistants (comedy ensues, but not in the way you think it might). Professor Keizo is also an important mentor to his assistants. He is one of only 4 characters that know about Tadayasu's unique ability (including Tadayasu in the count), and when Tadayasu loses the ability, he discusses with him what he has to do about it. Professor Keizo is a guide for the young people under his instruction in a difficult time in their life, while they preparing to transition from the world of education into the world of adults and jobs. He provides a kind of refuge for Haruka Hasegawa, who made an arrangement with her father that she could postpone her arranged marriage until after she finished her college studies. And, as I mentioned earlier, he helps Kei Yuki find a place where he can decide if he wants to take up the burden of the job his family expects him to take, as well as coming to terms with his own self-image. |

He also makes a mean Kiviak. Seriously, great character. Another one of those characters that seem to know everyone, possibly because he is apparently very old, they mention at one point that he was a scientist during WW2, making alternative fuel for planes. |

Group C-1
Kisuke Urahara, Bleach vs. Chourou, Hare + Guu Voting for: Kisuke Urahara Group C-2 Cologne, Ranma ½ vs. Akemi, SaiKano Voting for: Akemi You could argue I've never been much of a Ranma 1/2 fan, for better or for worse, but even back in the day I never found Cologne to be particularly interesting or noteworthy. On the other hand, I might have mixed feelings about SaiKano overall, for reasons that have little to do with this contest, but Akemi's role in that show provided far more emotional impact. At least in my opinion, I would say that makes her the better choice here. Group C-3 Armblast, Kiddy Grade vs. Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin Voting for:Joun the Beekeeper Group C-4 Fool, Kaleido Star vs. Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Voting for:Fool Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star vs. Straight Cougar, sCRYed Voting for: Straight Cougar I can't comment on Lucky Star even if I wanted to do so, but Straight Cougar deserves to move on because he was one of the better supporting characters in sCRYed. Not only was he a highlight of the later episodes of the series, when he had to fight a particularly memorable battle, Cougar also provided a decent amount of commentary from time to time. Finally, while his personality is nothing we haven't seen before, that doesn't mean he wasn't fun to watch. Group C-6 Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory vs. Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon Voting for: Professor Itsuki Keizo Group C-7 Hajime Saito, Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin titles (some) vs. Myoga, Inuyasha Voting for: Hajime Saito Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura vs. Gouzaburou Seto, My Bride is a Mermaid Voting for: Tomoyo Daidouji Group C-9 Mr. Cat, Princess Tutu vs. Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars Voting for: Sakae Jinnouchi Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible vs. Nobuko “Nobu” Ishihara, Lovely Complex Voting for: Maestro Stresemann Group C-11 Hiko Seijiro, Ruroni Kenshin vs. Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Voting for: Hiko Seijuro Group C-12 Rakashun, The Twelve Kingdoms vs. Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta, Gunbuster Voting for:Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta Group C-13 Kyosuke Irie, When They Cry - Higurashi franchise vs. Gilliam II, Outlaw Star Voting for: Gilliam II Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise vs. Hitomi Kashiwa, Welcome to the NHK Voting for: Hitomi Kashiwa Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away vs. Miss Yoshinoya, Hidamari Sketch Voting for: Miss Yoshinoya Group C-16 Wakaba Tsukishima, Cross Game vs. Vanilla, Kaiba Voting for: Wakaba Tsukishima Not much I can't say that hasn't already been explained by others, but Wakaba is worthy because of what she represents for the characters who had the opportunity to interact with her. A character doesn't always need to be physically present for the duration of an entire show in order to make a difference or leave a lasting impression on the audience. I suspect this argument will need to be made more than once in this tournament and not just for Wakaba. |

As "boring" as Doug may be (an assessment I don't agree with, but I'm not going to get into that argument here), he still plays an absolutely critical role in making sure Kurau and Christmas can progress on various occasions in addition to having his own side concerns about the son who lives with his ex-wife. This is one case, I think, where story impact is distinctly more important than how colorful the character is. Anyway, that's still one of the matches that could be up for grabs at this point, especially if ~~Epic~~ doesn't update his vote to include an argument in at least one match - and he hasn't as of this writing. I will be even more annoyed, though, if Akira Kogami - a character who isn't even involved in the regular part of the episodes - wins over Straight Cougar, a far more substantial character who's just as quirky. (Right now it's a dead heat.) |

Woooo. Last minute voting!
Group C-1 Kisuke Urahara, Bleach vs. Chourou, Hare + Guu Kisuke Urahara Group C-2 Cologne, Ranma ½ vs. Akemi, SaiKano Cologne - This one was actually very hard since they both worked on different merits. Akemi has a very powerful moment and general presence in the series even though she played a very typical role of the 3rd person in the love triangle. But I still have to give it to Cologne. She's always a great instigator of comedic situations and she indirectly mentors the majority of the cast in one form or another. Plus, despite being the general opposition to the main cast, she'll often team up with them which keeps her role quite refreshing in the long series as well as so that, despite her ultimate goal of making Ranma Shampoo's husband, she'll put important matters first. And then once resolved immediately prioritize Shampoo. Group C-3 Armblast, Kiddy Grade vs. Joun the Beekeeper, The Beast Player Erin Armblast Group C-4 Fool, Kaleido Star vs. Kokone Takatsu, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou franchise Kokone Takatsu Group C-5 Akira Kogami, Lucky Star vs. Straight Cougar, sCRYed Straight Cougar Group C-6 Doug, Kurau Phantom Memory vs. Professor Itsuki Keizo, Moyashimon Professor Itsuki Keizo Group C-7 Hajime Saito, Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin titles (some) vs. Myoga, Inuyasha Myoga - While I dig Saito, I gotta give it up to Myoga. Comedic relief, wise old guy, and he saves the cast on a number of occasions even thought you never expect him too given that he's a coward. Group C-8 Tomoyo Daidouji, Cardcaptor Sakura vs. Gouzaburou Seto, My Bride is a Mermaid Tomoyo Daidouji - Ahhh... forbidden love. Group C-9 Mr. Cat, Princess Tutu vs. Sakae Jinnouchi, Summer Wars Sakae Jinnouchi - At this point, the "main cast" argument should be mote in my opinion. It's hard to consider the cast in Summer Wars an ensemble given how the story focused more on Kenji and his interaction with the family more then anything else. With that aside, she is a great supporting character. She holds a very strong presence at the get go and plays a major yet almost subtle role in the movie. Group C-10 Maestro Stresemann, Nodame Cantible vs. Nobuko “Nobu” Ishihara, Lovely Complex Maestro Stresemann - this one was pretty interesting to hear go back and forth but I gotta give it the the Maestro. Without him the 2 main characters would have ended up in nowhere and if it wasn't for his initial grouping of a number of side characters (by choose the members to the S orchestra), the same could have been said for the great collection of side characters the series has. Group C-11 Hiko Seijiro, Ruroni Kenshin vs. Noboru Yamaguchi, Cromartie High School Hiko Seijiro - although his time is short with the series, his presence was strong and memorable. And surprisingly funny. Group C-12 Rakushun, The Twelve Kingdoms vs. Kouichiro “Coach” Ohta, Gunbuster Rakushun Group C-13 Kyosuke Irie, When They Cry - Higurashi franchise vs. Gilliam II, Outlaw Star Gilliam II Group C-14 Mao, Darker Than Black franchise vs. Hitomi Kashiwa, Welcome to the NHK Mao Group C-15 Kamaji, Spirited Away vs. Miss Yoshinoya, Hidamari Sketch Miss Yoshinoya Group C-16 Wakaba Tsukishima, Cross Game vs. Vanilla, Kaiba Wakaba Tsukishima - Wooo! Legal streams and the manga! |
