Bandai Namco Filmworks is set to attend Anime NYC 2024 on August 23rd, where they will reveal exciting updates about Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom. Fans can anticipate the premiere of an official release trailer and the announcement of the precise release date.

The Bandai Namco Filmworks panel will be held on Friday, August 23rd, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM EDT. The panel will showcase several ongoing projects, including Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom.

'With the VR movie “Silver Phantom,” you can actually experience a world that exists only in movies. Thanks to MetaQuest's state-of-the-art technology, your dreams of becoming a mobile suit pilot and playing the lead role in a movie have become a reality. About Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom

Co-produced by Japan's entertainment powerhouse Bandai Namco Filmworks, acclaimed immersive studio Atlas V and distributed by Astrea, Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom is a Virtual Reality (VR) movie set in the beloved mecha world of Gundam, which celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2024.

Gundam, an animated science fiction work centered around fictional robots, has captivated both Japanese and international audiences, spanning generations and touching millions. The various series, based on the original Mobile Suit Gundam, form a chronological tapestry known as the 'Universal Century.' Each installment is historically linked to its predecessors, deepening the story with every episode. These qualities have earned the Universal Century universe enduring popularity and admiration across multiple generations of fans.

The background of the VR film is setted in Universal Century 0096. Three years after the last conflict between Neo Zeon and the Earth Federation, an independent mercenary organization is hired by the Earth Federation to track down a former Commander who joined Neo Zeon remnants "Sleeves". An all-new and epic adventure into the heart of one of Japan's most iconic anime universes.
