CharaExpo Returns for 4th Installment Within Inaugural Japan Park Singapore 2018
Bushiroad fans experienced a full lineup of their beloved contents, with appearances by Poppin' Party & Jyushin Thunder Liger
Singapore (August 14, 2018) – One of the biggest Japanese anime and games event in Singapore, CharaExpo returned for the fourth year in a row, this time as part of Japan Park Singapore 2018. As co-organizers, Bushiroad brought forth a diverse selection of its contents to represent the anime & gaming subculture segment of Japan Park.
Japan Park is a newly conceptualized event spearheaded by Amuse Entertainment Singapore that aims to be a one-stop destination that is all about Japan. Under the tagline “Play, Get and Taste a selection from 47 prefectures”, it exhibited a variety of contents ranging from food to travel and tradition to lifestyle for all ages.
Mobile Gaming: BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! & Love Live! School idol festival
Headlining the mobile gaming segment were two popular Bushiroad games, BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! & Love Live! School idol festival. Visitors were given the chance to try out demo sessions of the game, as well as take part in exciting activities such as High Score Challenges. Along with other freebies, fans new to BanG Dream! were also able to take away a fan book with a quick introduction to the project.
Guest Appearances: Poppin' Party & Jyushin Thunder Liger
Fans of Poppin' Party were given a treat when the members took to the Omakase Stage. The quartet gave a talk-show on their experience in Singapore, and named their favorite places and food in Japan. Two hundred lucky fans also received a chance to get up close and personal with the members of Poppin' Party through a Meet & Greet session.
Pro-wrestling fans were not left out either, with many of them having the opportunity to meet the legendary Jyushin Thunder Liger in person. Fans could take a photo with the pro-wrestler himself, and receive an autograph on any one item of their choice.
TCG: Cardfight!! Vanguard & Future Card Buddyfight
Bushiroad also exhibited two of its well-established trading card games: Cardfight!! Vanguard and Future Card Buddyfight. Many were delighted to challenge the mini-games, with attractive participation prizes being given away. Veteran players were able to enjoy the product displays highlighting the games' and animations' histories, while new players could learn how to play the games through the game demos.
Tournaments were also held throughout the two days of Japan Park. By completing special missions specific to the games they played, players could obtain card supply prizes such as sleeves, deck-cases, and even convention-exclusive playmats.
Live Performance: Poppin' Party
To conclude the 2-day event, Poppin' Party took to the stage once more for a heart-pounding hour-long concert. The concert was open to all event attendees, while VIP ticket holders were able to watch Poppin' Party perform at close proximity and receive an exclusive sticker of the band.
Future Plans
CharaExpo will continue to expand its reach to bring anime contents to fans around the world, with the upcoming CharaExpo USA taking place in Anaheim, California on November 10th – 11th. BanG Dream! fans will be able to experience live performances by Poppin' Party, RAISE A SUILEN and more. Other key Bushiroad contents will include special guests for Cardfight!! Vanguard and Revue Starlight.
