Seven Seas Entertainment Celebrates Over Ten Years of Amazing Agent Luna with Final Volume
(LOS ANGELES, November 4, 2015) – Seven Seas Entertainment is proud to announce the completion of its longest-running original English-language manga series with the eleventh and final volume of Amazing Agent Luna.
Debuting in 2004 as one of Seven Seas Entertainments' launch titles, Amazing Agent Luna has delighted fans and critics for over ten years, spanning nineteen books, including both single volumes and omnibus editions, and hitting the New York Times Manga Best Seller list. This Fall, Amazing Agent Luna reaches its dramatic conclusion in a 248-page finale. Nunzio Defilippis and Christina Weir's loveable characters and masterful storytelling kept readers engaged for over a decade, while Shiei's adorable and evocative artwork, with over 1800 pages drawn, brought the story to life in a way that catches the eye and tears at the heartstrings of readers to this day. The Luna franchise also spawned a two volume prequel series, Amazing Agent Jennifer, that explores the origins of Project Luna and introduces several major characters that go on to appear in the main series.
“We've written a lot of stories, and created a lot of characters, from TV to Marvel Comics to manga. But there's no one we created or wrote who we love as much as Luna,” says co-author Christina Weir. “She's been a part of our lives for over a decade, and we watched her grow up. It's tough to wrap her story and say goodbye, but every story needs an ending.”
“Amazing Agent Luna marks such a huge part of Seven Seas' history. The series has been with us since the beginning.” says Seven Seas publisher, Jason DeAngelis. “Not many comics last this long and maintain such a passionate fanbase. We're so grateful to Nunzio, Christina, and Shiei for their hard work and the world they created for Luna and her adventures. Although all good things must come to an end, we think readers will love what the extra-large finale volume has in store for them!”
“Shiei has been an amazing co-pilot on this journey, and the support and story help we've gotten from Jason and Adam and Seven Seas was a huge part of why we loved writing for Luna,” says co-author Nunzio Defilippis. “The book has been the best experience we've ever had as writers."
Grown in a lab from the finest genetic material, fifteen-year-old Luna Collins has been trained all her life by a covert government agency as the ultimate espionage agent. Now she has a dangerous mission that will test her abilities like never before: high school!
Seven Seas released Amazing Agent Luna volume 11 on October 27, 2015 for $12.99 US / $14.99 CAN. Amazing Agent Luna omnibus 5, collecting the last two volumes of the original series, will be released December 15, 2015.
