Voice Actress Kira Buckland to Attend SpringFestNY As Guest of Honor
BROOKLYN, New York (February 19, 2014) - SpringFestNY is excited to announce American voice actress Kira Buckland as a guest of honor. Also known as Rina-chan to many of her fans, she can be heard in a number of anime series and video games.
SpringFestNY Programming Chair Wayne Jones, was thrilled at the news stating that “it's exciting to have Kira attending as a guest this year.” “It's inspiring to have a guest who got their start as a fan and joined the industry,” he added.
Kira began voice acting at the age of sixteen after having been introduced to the online voiceover community. After moving from her hometown of Anchorage, Alaska to Southern California she landed her first anime roles as Kanae in “5 Centimeters Per Second” and Eri in “AIKa R-16”. More recently she can be heard in popular fighting game “Skullgirls” as the voice of Marie, newly released RPG “Bravely Default” as Artemia Venus and hit anime series “Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic” as Ren Kougyoku.
