Otakuthon 2011 Announces Halko Momoi as Japanese Guest of Honour
MONTREAL, QUEBEC, CANADA (June 30, 2011) - Otakuthon, Montreal's fan-run anime convention, has announced voice actor and vocalist Halko Momoi as Japanese Guest of Honour. A concert, autograph session, and Q&A session will be held.
Previously announced Guests of Honour for Otakuthon 2011 include North American voice actress Maile Flanagan, North American voice actor Crispin Freeman, cosplay celebrity Yaya Han, webcomic writer Ryan Sohmer, webcomic artist Lar deSouza, comic artist Karl Kerschl, and voice actor Steve Downes.
About Halko Momoi:
Known as the Queen of Akihabara, Halko Momoi is also a well-known
composer, voice actress, singer, writer and otaku. She debuted her voice
acting career voicing Komugi Nakahara in the anime The Soul Taker. Since
then, she has voiced several roles, most notably Feyris Nyan-Nyan in
Steins;Gate, Sun Seto in Seto no Hanayome, Filia in Prism Ark, Anise
Tatlin in Tales of the Abyss. She has also had roles in many other series
such as Ai Yori Aoshi, Bottle Fairy, D.C. ~Da Capo~, Final Fantasy:
Unlimited, Gravion, Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~, Magikano, Majokko Tsukune-chan,
Paranoia Agent and Ragnarok The Animation. As a singer and composer, she
created and performed many works and was part of the popular singing duo
UNDER17. She also has her own production label, “AKIHABA LOVE RECORDS”.
About Otakuthon:
Otakuthon is a fan-run, bilingual anime convention held annually by the
Quebec Anime Committee. The first of its kind in Montreal, Otakuthon was
first run the Otaku Anime club of Concordia University in 2006. It
regularly features a number of special guests as well as many activities
and events related to anime, manga, video games, artwork, and Japanese
culture as well as promoting and encouraging local artists, actors and fan
