Providence Rhode Island Welcomes Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series to the New England Area
Final YCS Before The World Championship Qualifier
EL SEGUNDO, CA (June 10, 2011) – Duelists around New England have been preparing for weeks in anticipation of playing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) when it comes to the Rhode Island Convention Center June 18th – 19th. This premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) event from Konami Digital Entertainment (Konami) will be the last YCS leading up to July's 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! North American World Championship Qualifier.
Experienced Duelists and budding hopefuls alike are expected to make the trip to Providence where attendance could easily reach in excess of 1,000 contestants. Duelists will be hoping that their careful preparation, Deck choices and well thought-out strategies are the perfect combination to advance them to the Final Round on Sunday for a chance to Duel for the title of Champion.
Pre-registration for YCS Providence will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. June 17th and resume promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18th. Round One will begin at 10:00 a.m. The Top 16 YCS finishers, along with the top Duelists of the weekend's Regional Qualifiers, earn invitations to participate in their respective 2011 World Championship Qualifier events, to be held in July. Duelists, upon paying their registration fee, will receive five Extreme Victory booster packs just for participating in Konami's Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series.

In addition to the main event, Konami will be offering a full range of Public Events such as Regional Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Dragon Duels, and a tournament for the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011 Over the Nexus video game. The top Duelist in the video game tournament will win ten booster packs. Top finishers in the Dragon Duel events (for Duelists Age 12 and under) will win a YCS Game Mat, an invitation to their 2011 World Championship Qualifier and a Dragon Duel t-shirt!
Konami will award a set of the YCS prize cards to the main event winner, the two runners-up, and the winners of Sunday's two Public Events playoffs. Each of these Duelists will receive one copy of each of the three YCS prize cards: Ultra Rare versions for the winner of the main event, and Super Rare copies for the others.
