CBLDF Announces New Additions to Management Team
New Development Manager and Operations Manager Named
March 23, 2010: The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund today announces two new additions to its management team, whose combined emphasis on Development and Operations under the continued leadership of long-standing Executive Director Charles Brownstein will carry the organization to a new level in 2010.
Joining today is Cheyenne Allott, who, as Development Manager, will be the face of the organization's fundraising and outreach initiatives. Allott will be overseeing the CBLDF's development activities, including fundraising at conventions, online, and at events throughout the United States. Her first appearance for the organization will be at the ComicsPro Annual Meeting this week. Allott most recently comes from Dark Horse Comics, where, as an Account Executive, she worked with an expansive list of creators, retailers, museums and organizations. “The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is an incredible organization that has been fighting a good fight for over twenty years,” says Allott. “I could not be more honored to join their ranks.”
Also joining the CBLDF is Brady Bonney, who serves as the organization's Operations Manager. Bonney will oversee the organization's office and fundraising logistics, including supervision of the web store, administration of fulfillment, and other tasks related to creating smoother and more positive supporter relationships. Bonney previously served as Operations Manager at Things From Another World, an organization he was with for more than 12 years. In his time at TFAW, he managed their Hollywood District store, worked as customer service and purchasing for TFAW.com, and led their Oregon and Washington show staff. Bonney says, "The first comic I ever read was one of the Cochran EC reprints, and it knocked my socks off. When I learned about the Senate hearings that shut those comics down, I was stunned. Having the opportunity to be on the frontline of making sure nothing like that can happen again, is not only exciting, but honestly, I can't imagine myself anywhere else."
Both new staffers will report to Executive Director Charles Brownstein.
“The addition of Cheyenne and Brady to the CBLDF's team is great news for the organization and our supporters,” Brownstein says. “Both bring an incredible energy and commitment to our mission that will allow us to serve our supporters better, and raise the bar for the kinds of innovative and intelligent fundraising that the CBLDF is known for. This new level of emphasis on development and operations will in turn allow us to do much better work performing our mission services, especially on the education side. This is the first of several announcements in the coming weeks that will show the Fund becoming a much larger and stronger animal.”
