Omodaka Gets Kinky with New Plum Song EP
Yokohama, Japan - November 23, 2009 - HearJapan is proud to announce the release of OMODAKA's new EP, Plum Song!
It has been a whirlwind year for OMODAKA. After years of glowing reviews from around the web, several tours and live appearances overseas and his addition to the HearJapan library, he finally had the time to produce Plum Song, an incredible new EP. It includes all of the hallmarks of OMODAKA's past success. Famous enka singer Kanazawa Akiko is featured on each track, adding her traditional vocal style to OMODAKA's cutting edge chiptune-tinged sounds. The beats are clear as crystal and twice as sharp, and the combination of energetic break-beat and house grooves is impossible to resist.
HearJapan had the exclusive opportunity to talk with OMODAKA before the release of Plum Song. He explained that the song "Plum Song" was inspired by the ancient red light district in Yoshiwara. That goes a long way to explaining why the video for the song, which you can also watch at HearJapan, is heavy with erotic imagery and suggestive symbols. Even OMODAKA himself wasn't sure what some of them meant and had to ask the director for clarification! Read the full interview through the link below.
You can get the entire four song EP at HearJapan for the special low price of ¥380 | $4.44 | €2.98.
