New Convention in North Carolina
NC's second Anime convention in early planning stages
BOONE, NC - June 15, 2006 - The Japanese Culture Society of Boone
wishes to announce the beginings of North Carolina's second anime
conveniton in order to secure additional help and possible financial
assitance. This convention is being planned to take place in the
Greensboro, NC area becoming the second anime convention in North
Carolina, Animazement in Durham, NC being the first. This convention
is being planned currently by personal friends of the two directors
Michael LAWSON and Darren Eickson as well as help from members of the
Appalachian State Univeristy Anime Club Forum. Because a name for the
convention has yet to be fully decided on the convention is codnamed
Project Mike and Darren Con after the initial idea from the two
directors. The current date for the convention to be held is labor day
weekend, the first weekend in September. The year for the first event
to occur is not known as planning is in the early stages. Greensboro
was the chosen city because of it's central location in North Carolina
and easy access via Interstate 40. The planning committee is made up
of four sub committee heads and two directors. We are in need of staff
in just about every area as follows:

About Project Mike and Darren Con:
We are a startup organization with the common goal of spreading
awareness and appreciation of Japanese Culture all accross North
Carolina and the surrounding area. We are already in negotiations with
both the Joseph S. Koury Convention Center and the Downtown Mariott in
Greensboro, NC weighing the pros and cons of each. We are a group of
friends who wanted to start another anime convention.
