Anime Limited Announces Release Details of Bleach and Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War U.K. Blu-rays

Collector's and standard editions of the original Bleach TV series will be released on 4 November, after first volume of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War on 30 September

Anime Limited has announced details of its upcoming Blu-ray releases of the original Bleach TV series and also the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War series.

The releases of the original Bleach TV series will begin on 4 November, while the releases of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will start earlier, on 30 September. Pre-orders for the first volume of the original Bleach will open on 15 August, while pre-orders for the first volume of Bleach: Thousand-Year War have opened.

The original Bleach TV series will be released across 13 volumes. Three of those volumes will be available as Collector's Editions: volumes 1, 6 and 10. (These volumes will also be available in standard editions as well.) Each of these Collector's Editions will include an artbook, and will come with storage boxes which can carry the intervening volumes between the Collector's Editions. The artbooks will also reflect the intervening volumes - for example, volume 1's artbook will cover the first five volumes of the series.

Part 1 will be released on 4 November in both Collector's and Standard formats. The Collector's Edition is pictured above right.

Anime Limited adds, "We already have parts 1 to 5 of the series approved and going into production, so expect to see parts 2 to 5 launch for pre-order at a rate of approximately one a month, with street dates also staggered on a monthly basis. We may take a short pause in our Bleach release schedule at this point before launching our second Collector's Edition set – as you can imagine, these larger releases require more design and approval work so may take longer to reach completion – but we're keen to keep up as regular a release schedule as possible."

According to Anime Limited, "Each volume of the series will feature approximately 27 episodes (with some variances dependent upon the length of story arcs), with discs which match the US release as a point of comparison."

Anime Limited also confirmed that the Part 1 Collector's Edition will include three character art cards, and that its art book will be 224 pages.

Anime Limited adds, "Whether you pick up the Collector's Edition or Standard Edition of Part 1, and regardless of retailer, you'll find... that Amaray case, O-card, set of four discs and trio of character art cards. The O-card and art cards are exclusive to the first print run of each part."

Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be released in sets covering each season. The Part 1 Collector's Edition (pictured left) will include two Blu-ray discs, carrying 13 episodes, as well as a 76-page booklet including artwork, episode guides and discussions of key scenes.

There will also be a standard Blu-ray edition. In addition, there will be an HMV-exclusive edition including an O-card. All editions of the first volume of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be released on 30 September.
