Rent-A-Girlfriend slated for early 2021

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the Rent-A-Girlfriend and Club Activities? So What! manga.

Elex Media plans to begin releasing the Rent-A-Girlfriend manga in early 2021. Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in North America, and it describes the story:

In Japan, the lonely have a new way out — online services that rent out dads, children, even girlfriends! When Kazuya's true love dumps him, he's just desperate enough to try it, and he's shocked at how cute and sweet his rental girlfriend turns out to be. But she wants to keep their "relationship" a secret, and there's a complication... she goes to his university... and their grandmothers are in the same home... and they live next door to each other?! And Kazuya finds out she's not nearly as nice in "real life"..

Miyajima launched the manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in July 2017. Kodansha released the manga's 18th volume on Tuesday. The series received a manga anthology (for which Igarashi and Seo also contributed manga for) on August 17. The manga inspired a television anime that premiered on July 10 and aired for 12 episodes. It will have a second season.

The first volume of Katsuki Izumi's Club Activities? So What! (Bukatsu, Suki Janakya Dame Desu ka?) shipped on Wednesday. The manga's slice-of-life comedy story centers on high school boys who mistakenly hope to be popular after joining club activities. Though they don't have real interest, they carelessly join a sports-oriented club at school.

Izumi's manga series ran in Square Enix's Gangan Online web manga magazine from May 2016 to March 2017. The second and final compiled book volume shipped in May 2017.

The manga inspired live-action television series in October 2018.
