posted on by Adriana Hazra
Netflix India is listing the Sword Art Online: Alicization anime on its streaming service. ANN could not verify when the show was added to the service but Sword Art Online's U.S. Twitter account announced the addition on Friday.
Netflix India describes the Sword Art Online franchise:
A video game whiz helps create a new technology that enables players to guide their online avatars with their own bodies -- but a dark twist emerges.
Netflix India is not currently streaming Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld or Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld Part 2.
The anime premiered in October 2018 in Japan and aired for 24 episodes. Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld, the second half of the Sword Art Online: Alicization anime, premiered in Japan in October 2019 and the first part aired for 12 episodes. Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld Part 2 premiered on July 11 and aired for 11 episodes.
Manabu Ono (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Saki, The Asterisk War) directed the anime at A-1 Pictures. Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale animation directors Gō Suzuki and Tomoya Nishiguchi joined Shingo Adachi for the character designs. Yuki Kajiura returned to compose the music.
The anime covers the entirety of the novels' "Alicization Arc." The Alicization arc is in volumes 9 through 18 of the original novel series. Ono said in an interview on the anime's official website that he accepted the job as director around the time of the Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film's preview screenings, and he has heard from Aniplex staff since that time that the plan is to adapt the original novel series all the way to the end.
