This year's 39th issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine revealed on Thursday that Yoshihiro Yamada will launch a new manga titled Bōkyō Tarō (Homesick Tarō) in the D Morning web manga magazine on September 5. The magazine teases that the manga's story centers on a man who, in searching for an ideal life and a reason to live, ends up traveling to the beginning of human history.
The first part of the manga will consist of nine chapters that will serialize in the first nine "issues" of the web magazine (the site updates every Thursday with new issues).
Yamada launched the Hyouge Mono manga in Morning in 2005, and the series ended in November 2018. Kodansha published 25 compiled book volumes for the manga. The manga inspired a television anime adaptation in 2011. Morning magazine announced in January 2018 that a new live-action adaptation of the series has been green-lit, and planning is underway.
