posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Bandai Namco Holdings and Shueisha announced on Tuesday that they will jointly establish a new Shanghai-based company tentatively named "Shueisha Bandai Namco (Shanghai) Co., Ltd." in October. Bandai Namco Holdings will maintain a 51% controlling stake in the company, while Shueisha will hold a 49% minority stake.
The company will focus on offering and planning merchandise and goods in China based on Shueisha manga properties.
Bandai Namco Holdings previously established two Chinese subsidiaries earlier this year: Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby (Shanghai) in February, and then Bandai Namco Amusement (Shanghai) in March. Both new companies are subsidiaries to Bandai Namco Holdings China.
Bandai Namco Holdings already has its Bandai Namco Entertainment (Shanghai) subsidiary in China to handle its smartphone app business.
