Funimation to Stream Fairy gone, AFTERLOST, RobiHachi, Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life Anime

Funimation announced on Friday that it will begin streaming the Fairy gone, AFTERLOST, RobiHachi, and Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life anime on its FunimationNow streaming service this month. All four anime will have Japanese language simulcasts and English language simuldubs. These anime will stream in the following territories: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.

Funimation will stream P.A. Works' original television anime Fairy gone as it airs in Japan, starting on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. EDT. The simuldub will premiere on April 28 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

Funimation describes the story:

From the director of Drifters, and the creator behind Grimgar, Ashes and Illusions, comes a war-torn world on the brink of calamity. Able to summon fairies as alter-ego weapons, former soldiers become government dogs, mafia members, and even terrorists in search of purpose beyond the battlefield. Who will maintain the peace they all fought for nine years ago?

Kenichi Suzuki (Cells at Work!, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Drifters) is directing the anime, with Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash light novel author Ao Jūmonji writing and overseeing the scripts. Haruhisa Nakata drew the original designs for the characters and fairies, while Takako Shimizu (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Sōsei no Aquarion Love) designed the characters for animation.

Junichi Higashi is directing the art of the anime, and Naomi Nakano is serving as the color key artist. Tsunetaka Ema is the director of photography, and Kōtarō Shishido and Motonari Ichikawa are directing the 3D CG. Kiyoshi Hirose is editing, and Jin Aketagawa is directing the sound with sound effects by Tsutomu Ueno. [K]NoW_NAME (Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, Sakura Quest) is credited for music production, and is performing the opening theme song "KNOCK on the CORE" and ending theme song "Ash-like Snow." "Five fairy scholars" is credited for the original work.

The company will stream AFTERLOST, the television anime of Wright Flyer Studios' Shōmetsu Toshi (Annihilated City — Where I End and You Begin) smartphone game, as it airs in Japan, starting on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The simuldub premieres on April 28 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

In the anime's story, one day a town is annihilated. Yuki is a young woman who is said to be the only person left alive from the town after the annihilation, and Takuya is a loner and a smuggler. Together, with the letter left by Yuki's father, they go toward the town, now called Lost, but unexpected obstacles stand in their path. The thoughts of those left behind, secret and mysterious organizations, and hidden conspiracies await Yuki and Takuya as they move closer toward the mystery behind Lost.

Shigeyuki Miya (Blood Lad, Onihei) is directing the anime, and Shingo Irie (Kuroko's Basketball, Sakura Quest) is in charge of the series scripts. Tomoyuki Shitaya (Bakuman., Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma) is designing the characters. Satoshi Motoyama is directing the sound, and Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Eden of the East, Patlabor) is composing the music. Madhouse is producing the series, and Pony Canyon is producing the music.

Mao Abe is performing the opening theme song "Kotae" (Answer), and the five-member all-female idol unit SPR5 are performing the show's ending theme song "With Your Breath." The anime will also feature the song "Swallowtail Butterfly ~Ai no Uta~" performed by Kana Hanazawa as her character Yuki.

Funimation will also stream the original television anime RobiHachi as it airs in Japan, starting on Monday at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The simuldub premieres on April 29 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

Taiga Umatani is credited for the original story, and Shinji Takamatsu (Gintama, Mobile Suit Gundam Wing) is directing at his Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! and Cute High Earth Defense Club HAPPY KISS! studio, Studio Comet.

The company will also stream the television anime of Amyū's Kono Oto Tomare! (Stop This Sound!) manga as it airs in Japan, starting on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. EDT. The simuldub debuts on April 27 at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

In the story, Takezō is the last remaining member of the koto club, a club dedicated to the traditional Japanese string instrument. If he doesn't find new members, the koto club will be terminated. One day, Takezō is alone in the club room when a student barges in and demands to join. The student is delinquent Chika Kudō, a boy who even scares delinquent upperclassmen at other schools.

Ryōma Mizuno is serving as the series director at Platinum Vision (Saiyuki Reload Blast, Servamp, Devils' Line). Ayumu Hisao (Devils' Line, Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side) is both writing and overseeing the scripts, Junko Yamanaka (ReLIFE, Servamp) is the character designer, and Toshimitsu Kobayashi (Spice and Wolf II, Aoharu x Machinegun) is the sub-character designer. Yamanaka and Kobayashi are also both serving as chief animation directors, and Hideaki Oba is the adviser.
