posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website for Kill la Kill IF, the first game based on the Kill la Kill anime, revealed on Wednesday that Arc System Works will release the game for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Japan on July 25, and in North America on July 26. PQube will ship the game in Europe on July 26. The site also revealed a new visual (seen below) by Sushio and the game's first print and limited editions (available in Japan only).
In addition, the game will add the playable characters Mako Mankanshoku and Ultimate Double Naked DTR as free downloadable content this summer.
The game's first print edition in Japan will include a Mako keychain. The limited edition will have special box packaging art, an artbook, a soundtrack, and "Mako Croquette" keychain. Retailer-specific bonus items will also be available.
Anime Studio Trigger and game developer and publisher Arc System Works are collaborating on the game, with Arc System Works as the publisher. APLUS (Little Witch Academia game) is developing the game for one to two players. Arc System Works is discussing the possibility of providing an English dub for the game.
The anime's scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima is returning to write the game's original story, which will be written like "another episode" of the anime. The game's "if" story will diverge from the anime's story partway through and include new content. The game's protagonist will be Satsuki Kiryūin, rival and ally of the original anime's protagonist Ryūko Matoi.
Other playable characters include Ryuko Matoi, Ira Gamagoori, Uzu Sanageyama, Houka Inumuta, Nonon Jakuzure, Ragyō Kiryūin, and Nui Harime.
