The March issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine revealed on Saturday that Tsutomu Satou's The Irregular at Magic High School light novel series will receive two new manga adaptations. The first manga is titled Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Steeplchase-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: Steeplechase Arc) by Nobu Aonagi. The second manga is titled Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Koto Nairan-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: Ancient City Insurrection Arc) by Yuzuki N Dash. Both manga will launch in the magazine's May issue on March 27.
The Steeplchase-hen manga adapts the original novels' 13th volume, while Koto Nairan-hen adapts the 14th and 15th volumes.
Yuzuki N Dash previously drew the Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Natsu Yasumi-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: Summer Vacation Arc) manga in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh from October 2016 to December 2017. The manga adapted the novel series' fifth volume. Yuzuki N Dash also drew the Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Kaichō Senkyo-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: President Election Arc) manga (seen right), which launched in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh last April, and ended last September.
Aonagi previously drew the manga adaptation of Bandai Namco Entertainment's Tales of Berseria role-playing game. The manga launched in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex magazine in 2016, and ended last August.
Square Enix published Tsuna Kitaumi's Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Nyūgaku-hen (Enrollment Arc) and Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Kyūkōsen-hen (Nine School Competition) manga, which adapted the first two arcs (four volumes) of the novel series. Kitaumi's Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Double Seven-hen manga, which adapts the 12th volume, began in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine in October 2016 and will end in the third volume this spring. Square Enix also published Gin Amō's Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Yokohama Sōran-hen (Yokohama Disturbance Arc) manga, which covers novels 6 and 7, and is publishing Majiko!'s Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Raihōsha-hen (Visitor) manga, which covers novels 9-11. The Raihōsha-hen manga will end in the seventh volume this summer.
Kadokawa has also published Tamago's Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Yonkoma-hen spinoff manga, Waki Ikawa's Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Tsuioku-hen prequel manga, and Pinakes' manga based on the The irregular at magic high school The Movie: The Girl Who Summons the Stars film.
Yen Press licensed the original The Irregular at Magic High School light novel series and Yu Mori's spinoff manga The Honor Student at Magic High School, which is ongoing in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh.
