Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER Film's Teaser Video Streamed
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Toei began streaming a teaser video on Sunday for Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER, this year's Kamen Rider Heisei Generations film.
The end of video above mentions that the "generation is ending," highlighting the fact that Japan will enter a new era on May 1, 2019 when Emperor Akihito abdicates. The film is the 20th film of the Heisei-era Kamen Riders.
As with previous films in the series, this new film will crossover the previous Kamen Rider show with the current show. This year, the film will crossover Kamen Rider Build with the ongoing Kamen Rider Zi-O. The film will open on December 22.
The new Kamen Rider Zi-O series premiered on Sunday and is based on a time-traveling theme (the series' "Zi-0" title alludes to jiō, literally "lord of time"), with the titular hero wearing the RideWatch and ZikuDriver items that allow him to transform. The new Kamen Rider Zi-O's power allows him to wear the suits of all the Heisei-era Kamen Riders and gain their power.
The story centers around a boy born in the year 2000, who has dreams of him becoming a king. In the fall of 2018, the boy meets a girl who appears before him in a time machine. The girl explains that she comes from the future year of 2068, a hopeless future where a demon king rules and people suffer. The girl further explains to the boy that his destiny will be to become "Zi-O," the same demon king that will rule over the world.
The Kamen Rider Zi-O character also appears in the Kamen Rider Build: Be the One film, which opened in Japan on August 4.
Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER is part of a series of Kamen Rider crossover films that open yearly. Last year's film, Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FINAL Build & Ex-Aid with Legend Rider, opened on December 9.
