Manga creator Eisaku Kubonouchi revealed on Friday that he is serving as the original creator and character designer for a television anime short titled "Sono Toki, Kanojo wa." ("She's in love"). The anime will air on television on KBC and will stream on GyaO! in October.
Writer and essayist Saeri Natsuo is writing the script, and Master Lights is credited with the production. The theme of the anime is "a picture book (anime) to fall in love with." The anime will take place in Fukuoka, and will follow the love lives of four female protagonists as high school students, college students, and as working adults.
The project will also screen at the "Focus on Asia: Fukuoka International Film Festival 2018" event in the "Fukuoka Panorama" category.
Kubonouchi is known for the Chocolat, Cherry, and Tsurumoku Dokushinryō manga, as well as for the character designs for the "Hungry Days" Cup Noodle commercials. Chocolat inspired a live-action Taiwanese television adaptation in 2013.
