Yuichiro Umehara Returns to The Thousand Musketeers Anime
posted on by Karen Ressler
Voice actor Yūichirō Umehara returned to the role of Ieyasu in the television anime adaptation of Marvelous' The Thousand Musketeers (Senjūshi: The Thousand Noble Musketeers) smartphone game for the anime's eighth episode, which aired last Tuesday. Tomoaki Maeno had replaced Umehara in the first two episodes (the character was not credited in episodes 3-7).
Umehara was hospitalized in May after being diagnosed with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, an autoimmune disease that affects the nervous system. The actor took a hiatus from work, but his talent agency announced on July 30 that Umehara has been discharged from the hospital and will slowly return to work.
The Thousand Musketeers anime premiered in Japan on July 3. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series and HIDIVE is streaming the series as it airs.
