Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs PS4 Game's TV Ad Streamed

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
"Roguelike" game with original story ships in Japan on November 15

Furyu Corporation began streaming a television commercial for Matrix Software's Yuragi-sō no Yūna-san: Yukemuri Dungeon (Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs: Steam Dungeon) PlayStation 4 game on Wednesday.

The adaptation of Tadahiro Miura's Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs (Yuragi-sō no Yūna-san) manga will ship in Japan on November 15. The regular physical and digital versions of the game will cost 7,980 yen (about US$72). The limited edition will bundle three pillow covers, a mini visual guidebook, and original costume download codes for 10,980 yen (about US$99).

The single-player "roguelike" game where players explore dungeons will feature game-exclusive art and dialog. The game will feature an original story that begins with Kogarashi and the others cleaning the Yuragi inn's storehouse after they hear strange noises coming from it. They find a laundry hamper inside the storehouse, but they drop it, destroying a talisman that looks like a seal in the process. The hamper has a miniature garden inside, and a voice emanates from within saying: "Brother, you came back!" All of a sudden, a strong wind begins to blow, Kogarashi is turned into a doll, and is sucked into the garden. Yuuna and the others must brave a series of dungeons to find a way to get Kogarashi back.

The game will feature the same cast as the anime adaptation of the manga. The television anime premiered in Japan on July 14, and Aniplex of America is streaming the series on Crunchyroll as it airs.

Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the original manga series in English and it describes the story:

Homeless and haunted by ghosts, high schooler Kogarashi thinks his luck has finally turned when he finds Yuragi-sou—a cheap boarding house that was formerly a hot springs inn, now full of super sexy, scantily clad female tenants. If Kogarashi can use his spirit abilities to banish the ghost that haunts the inn, he can even live there rent-free! But when the ghost, a beautiful teenage girl named Yuuna, appears before him, Kogarashi takes pity on her and is suddenly not so sure about the exorcism. Will he help save Yuuna from becoming an evil spirit? And what supernatural secrets do the other boarders hold?

The manga launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2016.
