This year's 31st issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine announced on Thursday that the 22nd compiled book volume of Yū Sasuga and Kenichi Tachibana's Terra Formars manga will bundle an anime DVD. The story teaser alludes to a chance of victory found amidst the fierce fighting on the artificial island. The volume ships on November 9.
The 21st volume will ship in Japan on August 17 with an anime DVD. The volume was originally slated for for May 2017, but it was delayed when the series entered a hiatus due to Sasuga's health in March 2017. The manga resumed on April 26. The anime DVD was originally adapting the Earth arc, the arc that began with the manga's 18th volume.
Sasuga and Tachibana launched the Terra Formars manga in 2011. Shueisha shipped the manga's 20th volume in February 2017. Viz Media is releasing the manga in North America, and shipped the manga's 20th volume in January.
The first 13-episode television anime series adapting the Annex 1 arc of the manga premiered in September 2014, while the Terraformars Revenge sequel television anime premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll streamed both series as they aired in Japan. The manga also inspired a two-episode OVA series that adapted the manga's Bugs 2 arc in 2014. The episodes shipped with the manga's 10th and 11th volumes.
The manga inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan in April 2016.
