Visuals, descriptions for 6 main characters revealed

The staff of the original anime series Release the Spyce revealed character designs for the main characters. The designs, with their respective cast members, are below:

Yukari Anzai as Momo Minamoto, a second-year high school student who loves her teacher Yuki. She has a mysterious ability where she can discern the physical condition of others.

Manami Numakura as Yuki Hanzōmon, Momo's teacher. She is a talented spy and a third-year high school student. She's strict with herself and others, but can be too severe.

Aya Suzaki as Mei Yachiyo, a bubbly second-year high school student who is Fu's teacher. She loves old spy movies.

Akane Fujita as Fū Sagami, a first-year high school student who is Mei's student and roommate. She escaped poverty and became a spy, and has more ambition to rise than anyone else.

Aya Uchida as Hatsume Aoba, Goe's teacher and Yuki's childhood friend and classmate. She has invented many secret weapons.

Yuri Noguchi as Goe Ishikawa, Hatsume's student, and Momo and Mei's classmate. In spite of her appearance, she likes animals and plushies.

The anime will premiere in October.

The project is a collaboration between Yuruyuri manga creator Namori as original character designer and Yuki Yuna Is a Hero creator Takahiro for the original concept.

The anime begins with a lone high school girl named Momo (pictured in second image above), attending a high school in the city of Sorasaki. Unbeknownst to everyone, Momo is an agent who works for the private intelligence agency Tsukikage, that protects the city and its people. Under the tutelage of her senior Yuki, and her other friends, they keep the peace in the city. The story will eventually focus on six high school girls.

The anime marks Akira Satō's directorial debut at Lay-duce. Takahiro is credited for series composition as well as original planning. Satoshi Ishino is adapting Namori's characters for animation. SORASAKI.F is credited for the original work.

The anime is also inspiring a manga adaptation titled Release the Spyce - Naisho no Mission (Release the Spyce - Secret Mission) with art by Meia Mitsuki, which debuted in the Dengeki G's Comic magazine in January. The project is also inspiring a serialized novelization titled Release the Spyce - Golden Genesis that debuted on February 27. The novelization focuses on the character Yuki Hanzōmon.
