Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san TV Anime Premieres in Fall
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
The official website for the anime adaptation of Honda's Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san (Skeleton Bookstore Employee Honda) manga revealed on Monday that the anime will be a television anime that will premiere this fall. The site also unveiled a teaser visual for the anime.
Honda also drew an illustration to commemorate the announcement.
Honda jokingly commented that the anime will be "anime... but live-action" referring to the "live-action" skull used in the visual.
The comedy manga's story centers on a skeleton named Honda who works in a bookstore. Hilarity ensues daily in his work at the shop's manga counter.
Honda launched the manga on the pixiv Comic website in August 2015. Kadokawa brand company Media Factory published the third compiled book volume last September.
The manga ranked at #12 on the list of top manga series for female readers in Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook in 2016. The manga also ranked at #12 in Japanese online bookstore Honya Club's "Zenkoku Shotenin ga Eranda Osusume Comic 2017" (Nationwide Bookstore Employees' Recommended Comics of 2017) poll last year. In addition, the series was nominated in pixiv Comic and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai, Inc's "Web Manga Sōsenkyo" (Web Manga General Election) poll in July.
