Malaysian publisher Gempak Starz announced on Thursday that it has licensed Yūki Dōmoto's manga adaptation of writer Wataru Watari (My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected novel series author) and artist QP:flapper's Girlish Number project.
Animax Asia aired the television anime adaptation, and it describes the series:
College student Chitose Karasuma jumps into the voice acting industry full of dreams, hope, and ambition. But behind the curtains of potential fame and fortune, what is the reality that awaits her? She meets other young, hopeful girls like herself with wildly different personalities and backgrounds along her journey. Gradually, Chitose becomes both friends and competitors with them as they try to find their place in this competitive industry.
Dōmoto launched the manga in Dengeki G's Comic in March 2016, and ended it last May. Kadokawa published the manga's third and final compiled book volume last June.
The project's original television anime premiered in Japan in October 2016. Animax Asia aired the anime in Southeast Asia last March. The project also spawned the Girlish Number Shura manga by Shin Ikezawa (Charlotte) and Yū Tsurusaki (Charlotte), which is also inspiring an anime.
