Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Nikawa revealed in an interview with gaming news website Inside Games on January 1 that the company will continue to make new games and new franchise additions for the PlayStation 4 and Switch as its primary platforms. The company plans to make new announcements and release new games this year to celebrate its 25th anniversary, which takes place on July 12. In addition, Nikawa said that the Disgaea 5 Complete Nintendo Switch game sold nearly 200,000 copies.
Disgaea 5 Complete previously had 110,000 pre-orders in North America and Europe. Nippon Ichi Software released the game last March, and in North America and Europe last July.
NIS originally created the game for PlayStation 4, and released it in Japan in March 2015, and in North America in October 2015.
