Action RPG, side-scrolling platformer to be playable at E3

XSEED Games announced on Friday that it plans to release Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection (Zwei II Plus) for Windows PC this summer. The company also recently announced on Wednesday plans to release Sakuna: Of Rice And Ruin for PlayStation 4 and PC in 2018. Both titles will be playable at E3 Gaming Convention on June 13 to 15 in Los Angeles, California.

Nihon Falcom developed and released Zwei II Plus in Japan for Windows PC in 2009. It is an updated version of Zwei II, which originally launched in 2008. Nihon Falcom re-released Zwei II Plus in 2013 for the Windows 8 operating system.

XSEED Games describes the story as follows:

When the haughty vampire princess Alwen du Moonbria saves the life of brash, treasure-hunting pilot Ragna Valentine in exchange for a blood contract, the unlikely duo must set off to recover Alwen's stolen magic and usurped castle.

Sakuna: Of Rice And Ruin is a side-scrolling action platformer developed by Edelweiss (Astebreed). In the game, the player will learn to grow, harvest, and cultivate rice and other craft weapons. Players will also hone their battle skills and fight enemies.

XSEED Games describes the story as follows:

Players take on the role of Sakuna, a proud yet lonely harvest goddess who is banished to a dangerous island with a group of outcast humans. Sakuna tames the island by defeating demons using farm tools as weapons while chaining attacks with her “celestial scarf,” a magical item that allows her to grapple distant enemies and platforms.

Edeweiss revealed demo trailers for the game at Summer and Winter Comiket last year:
