Chaos;Child PS4, PS Vita Game Heads West in 2017

PQube announced on Thursday that it will release MAGES.' Chaos;Child game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Europe and North America in the third quarter of 2017. The company began streaming a teaser trailer for the release.
The game's story is set after a magnitude-7.8 earthquake hits Tokyo's Shibuya ward on November 6, 2009, a black fire spreads and causes mass panic on the day of the earthquake. The sudden disaster that becomes known as the "Shibuya Earthquake" kills 3,851 people and injures 30,927 more.
The "delusional Science Adventure" game is set in a reconstructed Shibuya district in October 2015. A string of mysterious deaths occurs in Shibuya amidst the reconstruction. People begin to take notice as the strange events start on the same day that chaos broke out in Shibuya with a certain incident five years earlier. The events are called the "Return of the New Generation Madness."
Chaos;Child is a sequel to 5pb.'s earlier "science-adventure" game Chaos;HEAd.
Chaos;Child first debuted on the Xbox One in 2014. That first version allowed players to hear in-game phone calls via the controller, but the versions on other platforms changed this and other features. MAGES. and 5pb. Games shipped ports for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan in June 2015 with a Z (18+) age rating. The game's PC port launched in Japan in April 2016. The game received the Chaos;Child Love chu☆chu!! PS4 and PS Vita spinoff fan disc on March 30.
The television anime premiered in Japan on January 11, and ended with the 12th episode on March 29. Crunchyroll streamed the series in Japanese with English subtitles as it aired in Japan, and Funimation streamed an English dub. Chaos;Child Silent Sky, an unaired episode of the anime, will screen in Japanese theaters for a limited two-week screening from June 17-30.
