Anime studio SHAFT announced on Sunday that it will preview footage from the Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiro Savant to Zaregoto Tsukai (Decapitation Cycle: The Blue Savant and the Prankster) OVA project, based on the first novel in NisiOisin's Zaregoto novel series, during the Tokyo Encore of the "SHAFT's 40th Anniversary Commemoration Madogatari Exhibit" starting on September 22. The footage will include the debut of Sangatsu no Phantasia's opening theme song "Cobalt World."

SHAFT also revealed the cover art of the first of eight planned DVD and Blu-ray Disc volumes. Character designer Akio Watanabe drew the cover. The volume is slated for October 26. Both the DVD and Blu-ray Disc volumes will retail for 3,600 yen (about US$36), and will include a "character commentary" written by NisiOisin, a 12-page booklet, and a clear case.

The Madogatari exhibit celebrates the studio's 40th anniversary. The exhibit began last November in Tokyo, then moved to Osaka in December, in Sapporo in February, and then in Nagoya in May. The Tokyo Encore run will take place at the Tepia Event Hall from Thursday, September 22 to Sunday, September 25.
