Media Gate opened a website on March 11 to announce that Eiji Masuda's romantic comedy manga Jitsu wa Watashi wa (Actually, I Am…) is inspiring a stage play adaptation at Tokyo's Shinjukumura Live theater from May 11 to May 15. Eight performances will be held.
The play will star Ryo Oshima (Gokujō!! Mecha Mote Iinchō) as Asahi Kuromine and Rin Asuka (Resident Evil stage play, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni live-action film) as Yōko Shiragami. Other cast members include:
- Former SKE48 female idol group member Tomoka Wakabayashi (Gurren Lagann, Re-Kan! stage plays) as Nagisa Aizawa
- Asuka Nagayoshi as Mikan Akemi
- Konona Shiba as Shiho Shishido
- Tomoko Katō as Akari Kōmoto
- Yurika Takagi as Akane Kōmoto
- Nanako Miura as Karen Shirogane
- Prizmmy☆'s Karin Takahashi as Rin Kiryūin
- Saemi Shinahama as Charisma Chijo
Hyōga Tanaka will play Shirō Shishido, and TATSUKI Muro will play Genjirō Shiragami in special performances of the play. Ichidai Matsuda is both directing and scripting the play.
This year's 16th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine revealed on Thursday that the next issue would have an "important announcement" on March 24 for the manga, and ANN has confirmed that the announcement is the stage play.
Eiji Masuda's original romantic comedy manga centers around Asahi Kuromine, who has a crush on a cute girl named Yōko Shiragami. Shiragami just happens to be a vampire. Asahi cannot keep a secret, but he is determined to keep Shiragami's secret anyways.
A television anime adaptation of the manga premiered in Japan last July. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English under the title My Monster Secret.
