Yugo Final Manga to End in November

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Original manga about high-stakes negotiator debuted in 1994

This year's 22nd issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine announced on Tuesday that Shinji Makari and Shuu Akana will end their Yugo Final manga in the magazine's next issue, which Kodansha will publish on November 10. Kodansha will publish the manga's final collected volume on December 22.

The story centers on Yugo Beppu, a negotiator who has never lost a case. His fluency in several languages and international connections help him keep his vow to complete every mission he takes on. His career takes a new turn when a woman asks for his help to rescue her father who is held captive in Pakistan. After his mission in the Middle East, Yugo moves on to cases in Japan, Hong Kong, Russia, and around the world.

Makari and Akana launched the Yugo Final manga in Evening in November 2014. Kodansha published the manga's second compiled book volume on October 23.

The original Yugo manga ran in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine from 1994 to 2004 and moved to Evening under the title Yugo the Negotiator in 2004. Kodansha has published a total of 38 compiled book volumes for the original series. The series inspired Makari's 1999 Yugo the Negotiator in Russia and India novel that expands the story of Yugo's first negotiations from the manga.

The Yugo the Negotiator television anime series premiered in Japan in 2004, and ADV Films released it on DVD in North America. The 13-episode series' story features the manga's Pakistan and Russia arcs.
