Full 2006 shojo series now available
Video streaming service Viewster began streaming the 2006 anime adaptation of Yuuki Obata's Bokura ga Ita manga on Monday. All 26 episodes are now available with English subtitles for the first time.
Viewster describes the story:
For first year student Takahashi Nanami, the start of high school life is also the beginning of her love life. But when she gets pranked by Motoharu Yano, who happens to be the hottest guy in school, love is the last thing on her mind. Naturally, Motoharu ends up in her class, and they soon find themselves falling in love. But their relationship is complicated by Yano's past; specifically the death of his ex-girlfriend. Plus, her younger sister, Yuri, is in the same class.
Akitarō Daichi directed the anime at studio Artland. Nozomi Sasaki debuted in the anime as Nanami Takahashi, and Hiroshi Yazaki costarred as Yano.
Obata began the manga in 2002 and ended the series in 2012. Viz Media published the 16-volume shojo manga under the title We Were There.
The series also inspired a two-part live-action film in 2012.
